In 2020 we will surpass the 1000 tree mark. Its all because of you. Thank you! One Giving Tree started with a problem; what to do with 10 Christmas trees intended to be used and discarded after a one night event. As it turned out, it proved to be even a bigger problem. The trees would have to be cut down, hauled, set up, decorated, taken down and disposed of all in the space of a few hours... on t
he night of the biggest storm of the year. The group who was offered the trees collectively decided to pass on the offer. Or, at least, most of the group. There is an old saying that goes, "There's one in every bunch"
One person saw the problem as a an opportunity to provide ten families with a cool surprise for the holidays. Within a few minutes he had a plan. Within two and a half weeks, 36 trees, stands and ornament kits were delivered to local families who would have otherwise gone without a Christmas tree. One Giving Tree was born from a problem turned upside down, and it became an opportunity to bless local kids and their families with the sights and smells of the holidays. This year - 2022 we will surpass the 2,000 tree mark as we donate 450 tree kits. Our trees are provided to local families in partnership with Community Solutions, Rebekah's Children's Services, South Valley Community Church, and the County of Santa Clara - Family Services Division, in addition to several Community Champions representing various sectors of our community. Our trees are delivered to families in Gilroy, Morgan Hill, Hollister and surrounding areas. We can only accomplish this through the help and generosity of our friends, family, business partners and other awesome people who "get it". We have a group of amazing volunteers, many sponsors and donors, and many case workers, agency representatives and other "elves" who help along the way.
