On behalf of the 2025 CARAS and Los Padrinos Tamal Festival, we would like to share our gratitude with the Gilroy community for always supporting our effort to provide a culturally rich, fun and inclusive Festival that makes us all proud.

We are also grateful for our sponsors, volunteers, vendors and the beautiful Lowriders. As well to Visit Gilroy, and the City of Gilroy staff for their support and for working such a long day with us!
Without all of you our festival would not be what it is. It has grown exponentially over the past 10 years, so we thank you for your patience as we are trying to keep up!

Our vendors make The Tamal Festival colorful, diverse and delicious. For many of them vending is their livelihood and we include as many as we can squeeze into the three block Downtown area. We also offer free space to our local non-profits and service providers. We do this so that their resources can be spent on the families that need them instead.

Although the Tamal Festival is a fundraising event for CARAS, so that we can continue to give back to the community we love and provide our services at no cost to the families and youth that participate, we don't charge an admission fee because we want to make sure everyone and their families can enjoy it.

We hope that you all had a great time and we look forward to seeing you all at Tamal Festival 2026!

📊 Over 10,000 youth were placed on wardship probation in California in 2023.
⚠️ 86% were youth of color.

This isn’t justice — it’s a system that overwhelmingly impacts Black, Latino, Asian, and Indigenous youth.

It’s time to rethink probation in California.
