Tomorrow is Ginger Cat Appreciation Day, so this whole week we’re celebrating our ginger cats! Who better to be our Cat of the Week than Tony the Tiger!

Tony the Tiger is a 5-year-old FIV+ sweet boy who would really rather be everyone’s best friend than live up to his tiger name. He absolutely loves other cats and is looking for a home with a feline friend he can play, run, and hang out with.

Do you have an FIV+ cat who is looking for a playmate? Tony might be your guy! Come meet Tony the Tiger at the Gilroy TownHouse and see why this orange boy is pretty great.

Saturdays without Slynk will not be the same. Here is Slynk in her favorite cat tree bed. She would sit in here and just stare, waiting for us to come give her attention. Such a love bug.

100 Days of Slynk will continue; it will just look a little different now. We started these 100 days because we wanted people to know Slynk, to celebrate her, share her story, and hopefully help her find the person who would finally see how special she was.

Now, we will spend those days remembering her. We will share the funny moments, the sweet moments, the memories, and everything that made Slynk so incredibly special. We still plan to highlight our adoptable cats and use Slynk to advocate for all cats who need a home, and to tell jokes, stories and educate everyone on all things cats.

Thank you Slynk for bringing us joy.

Today, we are simply remembering Slynk and all the joy she brought us. We are thinking of her fosters who loved her and cared for her along the way. A big thank you to them for being a part of her journey. She had so many people in her corner, and we are so thankful for every one of them.

Thank you all for the kind words and support over the last 24 hours. It really means a lot to us.

We are still working behind the scenes, taking cats to vet appointments, caring for the cats in our program, and bringing cats into our care. We are just taking things a little more quietly today, and taking our time.

We miss you, Slynk.

We never expected this. This is a long read, but please read the whole post. From Friday to Wednesday, everything changed for Slynk. Before we even started 100 Days of Slynk, we knew she would need dental surgery. We had been working with her veterinarian to get her an appointment, with plans to get everything taken care of before she was adopted.

On Friday, Slynk went in for her pre-surgical bloodwork, but something came back wrong. Her bloodwork suggested that Slynk had cancer, something we were not prepared to hear. We started treatment over the weekend and brought her back to the vet Monday for more bloodwork. This time, she was hospitalized so she could receive treatment in-house.

We picked her up Monday night, let her rest, and brought her back Tuesday for another day of treatment. When we picked her up Tuesday, we got worse news. Slynk wasn't improving. We brought her home one more time, determined to get her to eat, and planned to bring her back Wednesday morning to check her levels again.

This morning, her results were worse than before.

Slynk was suffering. She had stopped eating, and we had to make the heartbreaking decision to let her go, Slynk passed away today. All of this happened in five days. Five days from taking Slynk in for what we thought was routine pre-dental bloodwork to saying goodbye to her.

We kept hoping that the next test would bring better news. That she would start eating. That the treatment would work. That her numbers would improve. They didn't.

After almost three years in our care, including time spent in a loving foster home, this was not the ending we wanted for her. We wanted her to get her dental, find her forever home, and finally have the family she had waited so long for.

We are heartbroken. Slynk may never have gotten her forever home, but she had a home with us. She was loved. She was cared for. And she mattered.

We love you, Slynk. We are so sorry we couldn't give you more time.

100 Days of Slynk! IT'S MONDAY, and Slynk is ready to take on the week! Or stare at us until we give her treats... probably both. Slynk has a special way of making sure she is the center of attention, and honestly, she's pretty good at it.

Fingers crossed that this is the week Slynk gets adopted!

Senior Sunday! Slynk is not a senior, but she has decided to share her spotlight today with one of our other long-stay cats, Henry, who is 11 years old and waiting for a home of his own. Slynk and Henry actually have a few things in common. They both:

- Would prefer to be the only cat in the home
- Have been with Town Cats for over a year
- Take daily medication to keep their conditions well managed
- Are, objectively, the bestest and cutest cats ever

Henry is hyperthyroid, and his condition is controlled with daily medication. Slynk also takes daily medication to manage her condition. Both Slynk and Henry are looking for their forever homes. Maybe one of them is the cat you've been waiting for!

Interested in adopting either of them? Email us at [email protected]. We aren't able to respond to adoption questions in the comments, so please email us directly.
