Town Cats Town Cats works to ensure all cats and kittens have the chance to live a happy, healthy life.

Town Cats is a nonprofit, volunteer-based cat shelter/adoption center and feral cat advocacy 501(c)3 organization, dedicated exclusively to advocating for cat welfare. We strive to nurture, restore to health and find loving homes for as many abandoned, surrendered, orphaned stray and community cats as possible without ever resorting to euthanasia as a method of population control.

What happens to your cats if something happens to you?

It’s something we don’t always want to think about, but having a plan for your cats can give you peace of mind.

Our Safe Haven Program was created to help you figure out what happens to your cats if you can no longer care for them. Whether you’re planning ahead for an emergency, illness, or another change in circumstances, we can help you make a plan for their future.

Your cats depend on you. Planning ahead helps make sure they have someone looking out for them, even if you can’t.

CAT OF THE WEEK: SHURI!

263 days. That’s how long Shuri has been waiting for her person. She’s sweet, she makes the cutest little trill-purrs, and right now she’s getting some well-deserved love in a foster home. Her foster family adores her, but they can’t adopt her.

Shuri hasn’t had much interest from potential adopters, and after 263 days, we’d really love to see her finally find her home.

CATURDAY WITH SCOOTER! Scooter is hanging out at PFE, and she wants you to know that being FeLV-positive is nothing to be scared of! Scooter is healthy, happy, and loves her solo play time. She’s looking for a home where she can be the only cat, and she has plenty of personality to keep you company.

Our other FeLV girl, Pepe, is living in a loving foster home, and her foster has some things to say about what it’s really like to live with an FeLV-positive cat.

FeLV-positive cats can play, explore, snuggle, nap in sunny windows, and do all the normal cat things. They do need to live indoors and either be the only cat in the home or live with other FeLV-positive cats, along with regular veterinary care.

And FeLV cannot be transmitted to people or other types of pets.

Our Really, Really Big Community Cupboard Day is happening November 11 from 12–3 PM at the Town Cats Gilroy Town House! What do you mean REALLY, REALLY BIG?

We mean cat food. Cat litter. Dog food and supplies. Human food. Clothes. Cat towers. Litter boxes. Toys. Household items. And all sorts of other things that have been donated to Town Cats that we don't need, but our community might!

This is our twice-a-year chance to give it all away. Everything is first come, first served. Stop by, say hi, look around, and maybe go home with a treasure or two, some supplies you really need, or something fun and new to try.

We'll also have information about Town Cats programs and other community resources that can help when you need them most.

Come see what we've got, take what you need, find something fun, and spend a little time with your community.
