Hi all, I am retiring as a La Leche League Leader. Having a third baby just tipped the scales and I don't have the energy I used to have! As of now, I won't be having any more meetings and I will be referring those seeking help to the other wonderful breastfeeding experts in our area. I will use the comments below to share other resources - feel free to add resources that you enjoy in this area. Eventually, I will close this page, too I wish you all wonderful breastfeeding journeys!

Mastitis simply means inflammation of the breast and breasts can become inflamed for various reasons. It is not always due to a bacterial infection. Many times a plugged duct can cause inflammation and make you feel achy, chilled, or feverish. Here is a link to information about what to do when you have mastitis.

We're talking about our toddler nurslings this month. For many moms, the question of weaning is on their mind (and in their ear from well-meaning family and friends). If you are sure that you want to wean, here is an article that is a few years old, but the weaning tips still hold true.
One thing I would like to add is that you keep it slow and flexible so that while you're on the weaning path if your toddler hits a growth spurt, gets sick, or encounters any other unpredictable situation that might be made better with a little nursing then you will still have that as an *option* (you can always choose not to use it).

To quote Dr. William Sears, "There is no set number of years you should nurse your baby." If you and your child enjoy breastfeeding, there is no reason you need to stop.
