Safe Haven Equine Rescue

We said goodbye to our beloved Sandy Brown today. We suspected cancer with a tumor that was rapidly decreasing her airway.
Sandy Brown loved attention as much as she loved to play in the water.
She had been with us for almost 20 years.
We are sure Magic and Rescue were waiting at the Rainbow Bridge to greet her.

Now for the “good news”.
We went to court this week and we were given full custody of the two horses from Harrison county. The older horse we named Mary, and the younger horse is named Ember.
Mary is doing better from her trip to the Vet yesterday. Ember is enjoying unlimited access to hay and water.
We have had several inquiries about their adoption availability. If you are interested, we are now accepting applications. We will review in order of received.
Please email us @ [email protected] if you would like a copy of application sent to you. Or call 903-762–1432 for further information.
Thank you to all who have prayed, donated, and shared their story.

Update: we just brought Mary home. We will keep eyes on her throughout the night. We will make changes to her feeding routine for now. Will give her another round of antibiotics in a few days.
Thank you for your prayers and support.

We were hoping to provide a good news update this morning. But that will have to wait.
This morning we noticed one of our newest rescues, we named her Mary, struggling. She was choking. We loaded her up and took her to the Vet.
Choking resolved, but, showing signs of respiratory issues. Mainly possible aspiration. The Vet wants to keep her there for now so he can keep eyes on her.
Keep the prayers coming for her please.
This is what your donations are used for. We are thankful for all who have donated towards her care.
If you would like donate, it would be greatly appreciated.

We were called by Harrison County Sheriff Office to assist in the seizure of two horses.
Both are mares, suffering from neglect and malnutrition.
We have taken them to a quarantine area and will do a complete assessment.
Right now they are just happy to have some water and something to eat.
Please pray for their health and safety as with all seizure cases, we do not want them returned to neglectful owners.
If you would like to donate towards their care, all donations would be greatly appreciated.

Our dear Polly ended her battle yesterday. The respiratory problems just never got 100% better. Yesterday she showed us that she was tired and ready to cross the Rainbow Bridge.
I know that her best friends were there to greet her.
Thank you all for your prayers and support throughout her last months, weeks and days. And for those who were here with us yesterday, thank you very much for your compassion and support.
