A heartfelt thank you to our incredible Battle of the Bags Swish & Ace Sponsors!

This weekend was filled with laughter, friendly competition, fellowship, and a whole lot of Gilmont joy!

We are especially grateful for the generous sponsors who helped make our 5th Annual Battle of the Bags possible. Your support goes far beyond one fun-filled weekend. Today we get to celebrate the birthdays of not one, but two members of Gilmont's team!

As one of our Resident Volunteers, Bill spends his days doing groundswork around camp, and his eye for detail shows in every area of mowed grass, trimmed edges, and tidy pathways. He's also the creative hands behind the signs you see all around Gilmont, which help guests feel welcome and find their way. When summer comes around, Bill takes care of the pool, making sure it's clean, safe, and ready for campers to enjoy.

Doug is a long-time fixture at Gilmont and a valued member of our maintenance team. He knows the history of many of our buildings and always seems to know exactly where things are around camp, which is incredibly helpful! Doug is a skilled plumber who also lends a hand with electrical work, and is the kind of person who can look at a problem and know how to fix it.

We are thankful for the ways Bill and Doug each give their time and talents to help fulfill Gilmont's mission. Join us in wishing them both a Happy Birthday!

There’s something special about Gilmont when the air turns crisp and the seasons begin to change.

GGE Family Camp is an invitation to bring the whole family to camp for a fall weekend of playing, exploring, slowing down, and simply enjoying time together, all while knowing every meal served is gluten-free.

Bundle up for a hike through the woods, paddle across the lake, try the zipline or archery, make something at crafts, or find a quiet spot to take in the beauty of Gilmont in a cooler season.

And when it’s time to gather around the table, there’s no need to wonder what’s safe to eat. Meals are prepared in a gluten-free kitchen environment, giving families more space to focus on what really matters: being together.

2026 WINTER RETREAT THEME: CREATION WAITS

Winter looks a little different at Gilmont. The woods grow quieter, animals prepare for colder days, and all around us, creation seems to be waiting.

This December, we’re inviting campers to join in that waiting.

Inspired by Gayle Boss’ All Creation Waits, our Winter Retreat theme will invite campers to discover how different animals prepare for winter, explore the hope of new beginnings, and wonder together about how we prepare to welcome the Christ Child.

Along the way, there will be plenty of the things that make winter at Gilmont special; campfires, cookie decorating, Christmas carols, winter games, favorite camp activities, and time to play and explore in the piney woods.

Advent invites us to slow down, pay attention, and notice where hope and grace are already taking root.

Come away to Gilmont for a sacred time of silence, prayer, and reflection in the piney woods. With spacious time for rest, optional prayer experiences, scripture readings, and spiritual direction, this retreat offers room to simply be present with God.

Whether silence is familiar or completely new, you are welcome here.

Meet the folks helping make this year’s Young Adult Retreat feel a little more like home.

From meaningful conversations and honest questions to music shared together, Elizabeth, Kayla, and Emma will help guide us through a weekend of connection, faith, rest, and belonging at Gilmont.

✨ Rev. Elizabeth Cahoon | Retreat Speaker
Elizabeth is an Associate Pastor at Trinity Presbyterian Church in McKinney, Diet Coke enthusiast, and firm believer that asking honest questions is an act of faith. She’s passionate about helping people discover that following Jesus isn’t about having life perfectly together, but learning to recognize God’s presence right in the middle of it.

🎶 Kayla Kreger | Music Leader
Kayla is an elementary music teacher in Dallas and has called Gilmont part of her story since she was a camper, later returning as a counselor. She loves the community that grows at camp, especially through making music together, and is excited to return to Gilmont for this weekend.

🎶 Emma Rigler | Music Leader
Emma is the Youth Director at Trinity Presbyterian Church in McKinney and has been coming to Gilmont since she was young. In recent years, she’s returned as a music leader for GAP and other youth conferences, and she’s excited for her first Young Adult Retreat to reconnect with old friends and make some new ones.

Together, they’ll help create space for you to slow down, show up as you are, ask honest questions, make music, laugh, and explore what it might mean to "Make Yourself at Home."
