Meet “Vibrant Horizons” by Brooke Mack Art

Underwritten by Larry & Peg Smith

Brooke Mack has called Campbell County home since childhood and has spent the past seven years seriously pursuing her artistic career. Working primarily in acrylic on large-scale canvases, Brooke is especially known for her wildlife paintings, along with florals and western landscapes. Her style blends bright, contemporary color with the natural tones of the West, and her work can be found in businesses and homes throughout Wyoming and Colorado. In 2020, Brooke was recognized with Best in Show at the AVA Art Matters Gala.

For the Parade of Pronghorns, Brooke created Vibrant Horizons, a celebration of two things that have helped define Campbell County: energy and the prairie landscape.

One side of the pronghorn pays tribute to Wyoming’s energy industry, featuring coal mining equipment, oil field machinery, and a passing coal train beneath a brilliant Wyoming sunset.

On the opposite side, the landscape opens into the prairie, with Pumpkin Buttes, cattle, bison, a traditional windmill water pump, and those wide-open Wyoming skies. Realistic fur details and sagebrush climbing the legs help tie the entire sculpture together.

Rich western colors, layered landscapes, and familiar Campbell County imagery make Vibrant Horizons a beautiful tribute to both the industries that have shaped our community and the landscape we call home.

As you’ve seen from the first few that have been returned, our Parade of Pronghorns euro mounts are becoming something truly special!

Ten Wyoming artists are transforming these pronghorn mounts into one-of-a-kind works of art that will be sold during the live auction on September 10.

We are still seeking sponsors to help underwrite this collection. Sponsorships help cover the production of the mounts and provide stipends to the artists for their time and talent, allowing more of the proceeds raised during the auction to directly support the Rockpile Museum Association and its work.

We are seeking $4,000 in total sponsorship support, with sponsorship opportunities available at $500. Sponsors will receive recognition through event signage, social media, and during the live auction, along with an invitation to our exclusive early preview before the public event begins.

Our next Parade of Pronghorns skull is “Where the Compass Points Home” by Gillette artist Susan Jerke.

Wyoming is a land of wide-open skies, rolling prairies, winding rivers, distant mountains, and iconic landmarks. Susan’s piece celebrates both that landscape and the feeling of belonging it inspires.

At the center of the skull, the North Star and compass symbolize direction, while layers of turquoise-colored stones, shimmering glass, natural tones, and hand-painted Wyoming scenes represent the landmarks that help us find our way.

“In a landscape this vast, the compass may point the way, but memory and connection tell us where home is.”

“Where the Compass Points Home” will be sold during the live auction at the Parade of Pronghorns on Thursday, September 10 at the Rockpile Museum.

Meet “He Walks With Me” by Edie Reno, one of the ten life-size sculptures created for the 2026 Parade of Pronghorns.

Edie Reno of WhiteantelopeStudio..Edie Reno has been creating art for nearly her entire life. Raised on a Wyoming ranch, she found early inspiration in the horses, antelope, pronghorns, and landscapes around her. She began sculpting at fourteen and later studied art at Northwest College and the University of California Stanislaus.

Throughout her career, Edie has worked as both an artist and educator, teaching in California, Montana, Wyoming, and even the Democratic Republic of Congo. Her sculptures and public art pieces can be found in communities throughout the region.

“He Walks With Me” is bold, expressive, and incredibly layered. Edie built the surface line by line with handwritten marks and color, creating a sense of movement that changes the closer you get. Hidden throughout are small details waiting to be discovered, including pennies embedded around the base.

This piece was generously underwritten by Bronwen Anderson in memory of John and Pat Rudolph.

Our first artist-painted European Mount was dropped off this week and we are already obsessed.

Irene Daly absolutely transformed this piece, and getting to see the first of these come to life makes us even more excited for September.

We’ll have 10 one-of-a-kind European Mounts, each created by a different artist, going up for auction during Parade of Pronghorns on September 10.

This is going to be such a fun addition to the auction.
