🌟 He’s 15 and Still Waiting 🌟

We have an incredible 15-year-old young man in our program who is waiting for a mentor.

He has a kind heart, shows genuine gratitude, and is able to admit when he’s wrong — which says so much about his character. He’s working on managing big emotions, staying focused in school, and continuing to grow into the young man he wants to be.

He’s interested in:
🔧 Fixing cars
⚡ Welding & electrical work
🛠 Learning hands-on skills
💬 Building better coping tools

Have you thought about mentoring but you’re still not sure? You don’t have to just take the staff’s word for it. This quote is from one of our current mentors, CJ Ward:

“Mentoring seems intimidating at first, but I think it really comes down to just showing up and believing in someone who needs encouragement. If you can do that, the rest — the important conversations, advice, etc. — will come naturally!
Don’t put off becoming a mentor. Go sign up!”

We hope this was the nudge someone needed to start their own mentoring journey, or even just reach out for more information!

We are so incredibly thankful for the opportunity we’ve had to represent our program and get to share about the importance and long term effects that Mentorship has for our youth and communities as a whole.
January is being recognized as National Mentoring Month.

We would love the chance to get together with anyone that wants to learn more about what we do and why we do it.

We truly have the most supportive communities, and could not possibly be luckier.

“I have had the privilege of being a mentor to three great kiddos over the past few years. Each kiddo has been great to get to know and share my hobbies with. My favorite thing about being a mentor is the opportunity to not only teach my mentee but also learn to embrace the fun things in life that they share with me. I've bounced and jumped around at Flightzone, tie-dyed a tshirt with waterguns, played tag on a jungle gym, played card and board games I never knew existed and so much more! I also have been able to share my hobbies and personal interests with each of my mentees which has been a blast to do! All of my mentees' families have also been wonderful and supportive as well as the amazing Mentorship team at the YES House. “ -Johnathan Borrego (mentor of over 3 years!)

✨ Impact Youth Mentorship Needs You! ✨
We’ve got teens waiting right now for awesome mentors — and no, you don’t need to be perfect, you just need to be over 21, able to pass a background check, and willing to show up. 💪

Currently, we’ve got:
👩‍🦰 2 amazing young women waiting
👦 7 awesome young men waiting
(…and more applications rolling in fast!)

Our teens are curious about all kinds of things — tattooing, welding, heavy machinery, ranching, mechanics, cosmetology, military, and general shop skills — but really, they just need a caring adult to listen, hang out, and encourage them.

👉 Even if your hobbies or skills don’t match exactly, please apply anyway! There’s a right mentor for every mentee, and what matters most is YOU showing up.

If you can spare some time (and maybe share a few life lessons along the way), we’d love to match you with a teen who’s waiting for someone like YOU.
