This morning, Gilford Rotary welcomed John Beland as our guest speaker, sharing a hilarious presentation about his trip to Portugal with his wife! 🇵🇹 From travel experiences to funny moments along the way, John kept us laughing and reminded us that sometimes the best part of traveling is the stories we bring home.

Thank you, John, for sharing your adventures and starting our Friday morning with plenty of smiles and laughter!

Gilford Rotary had a great morning learning more about our community’s public safety resources! A huge thank-you to Lt. Carlson of the Laconia Police Department (LPD) for giving us a tour of the city’s Mobile Command Post.

It was a wonderful opportunity to see how this specialized unit supports emergency response, communication, and coordination when it matters most. We’re grateful to the dedicated law enforcement professionals who work every day to keep our communities safe!

Thank you, Lt. Carlson, for your time, your service, and for sharing your knowledge with our Rotary members. 💙

At Gilford Rotary, we believe that building a stronger community starts with connection, learning, and appreciation for those who serve.

🧦🍂 It’s SOCKTOBER! 🍂🧦

The Inter-Lakes Interact Club, sponsored by Meredith Rotary, is once again collecting socks throughout October to help those in need in our community!

For 11 years, this incredible student-led initiative has been making a difference. Last year alone, they collected more than 5,700 pairs of socks, bringing their 11-year total to over 28,700 pairs!
All donated socks will go to local organizations supporting individuals and families throughout the Lakes Region.

🧦 Want to help? You can donate new socks by giving them to any Gilford Rotarian throughout October!
Every pair makes a difference. Let’s make Socktober 2026 another record-breaking year of giving!

This morning, Gilford Rotary was pleased to welcome Katelyn Dassatti, Founder of the Lakes Region Diaper Exchange, as our guest speaker.

Katelyn shared information about the important work of the Lakes Region Diaper Exchange and its mission to help families in our community who are struggling to afford diapers and other essential baby supplies.

Diapers are a basic necessity, yet they can be a significant financial burden for families. The Lakes Region Diaper Exchange works to help bridge that gap and ensure that local babies and young children have the supplies they need.

We are grateful to Katelyn for taking the time to tell us more about this wonderful local organization and the difference it is making in the Lakes Region. 💙
