Over the last 10 years the Gilbert Turkey Trot has raised over $500,000 that have directly benefited children in our community. Each year this event has grown and more and more families are getting involved and making a significant contribution into improving the lives of “our” Arizona children. The race supports two charities, AzBrainfood and Families Fighting Blindness. Both charities focus on e

nriching the lives of children by providing them the tools they need to confront their physical and mental challenges.

Our Story

Started in 2011, the Gilbert Turkey Trot is a local-run philanthropic 5k and 1 mile fun run. This event unites the community in an effort to raise money and increase awareness for local charities AZ Brainfood and Families Fighting Blindness. It is a Thanksgiving day tradition situated in the heart of Gilbert run by volunteers who champion a commitment to service and fun. What started as a small neighborhood gathering a Thanksgiving morning has grown into a family tradition that attracts thousands of participants each year and to date has raised more than $240,000 for our charities.
