This past weekend the scouts went to Mt. Graham due to work around finals season, the troop squeezed in an extra adventure with a campout at Upper Arcadia in Safford, AZ. Nestled along the scenic Swift Trail, scouts experienced a dramatic shift in landscape—from desert terrain to cool alpine forests high in the Pinaleño Mountains. The weekend was filled with exploration, wildlife spotting, and hands-on outdoor skills. From setting up camp to navigating new terrain, scouts embraced the challenge and made the most of this unique high-elevation experience.

Just four weeks in, and the troop has already packed in an exciting stretch of adventure, service, and outdoor exploration.

The scouts kicked things off with an action-filled weekend at the Catalina Council Spring Camporee, rotating through skill stations that challenged their outdoor knowledge and teamwork. From survival techniques to traditional woodsman skills, every activity pushed them to learn, grow, and have fun along the way—all in pursuit of the coveted Axe Award. Not long after, the troop was honored to take part in a special Scout Sunday service at First United Methodist Church, where scouts supported the congregation through meaningful participation, including scripture readings and welcoming roles as greeters.

To round out this busy stretch, the troop headed into the mountains for a memorable campout at Upper Arcadia Group Site in Safford, AZ. Traveling up the scenic Swift Trail, scouts experienced a dramatic shift from desert landscapes to cool alpine forests and meadows high in the Pinaleno Mountains. The area’s rich wildlife, birding opportunities, and stunning views made it the perfect backdrop for exploration, learning, and a well-earned outdoor adventure before finals.

This past weekend, the troop set off for the Catalina Council Spring Camporee, ready for a weekend packed with adventure, challenge, and plenty of fun. From station to station, scouts tested their skills and learned new ones—everything from outdoor survival techniques to classic woodsman know-how. Each activity brought them one step closer to earning the coveted “Axe Award,” a true badge of grit and determination.

As the sun set on Saturday, the excitement didn’t slow down. The evening came alive with a special campfire program filled with laughter, creative skits, storytelling, and songs that echoed through the night. It was the perfect blend of teamwork, tradition, and unforgettable memories—one more adventure the troop won’t soon forget.
