What is the heart? In Hebrew culture the heart encompasses everything internal—thoughts, emotions, desires, dreams, motivations, intuition, intellect, and logic.

In western culture we separate heart (feelings and desires) from the mind (thought and logic). This is detrimental to loving God with all that we are—the first command Jesus gave (Matthew 22:34). To wholly love, we must be wholehearted.

Our heart, everything within, informs all we do (Proverbs 3:23). So it is not behavior modification that we are after, but heart transformation.

Heart transformation is an ongoing process of discovering who God is and everything within ourselves that has not yet experienced Him in the fullness of His love and goodness; and giving our whole selves (the good, bad, and the ugly) to Him.

At Behold Him we find Jesus and encounter transformation through:
* one-on one Heart Counseling sessions
* immersive 3 day Heart Intensives
* One Day Heart Transformation workshops
* Wholeness Training through online courses

The enemy wants to confuse, muddle, and erase your God-given, kingdom identity.

Counseling defines self-erasure as the gradual habit of shrinking your needs, boundaries, and voice to keep others comfortable or to preserve connection. It involves rejecting parts of your identity and emotional wellbeing to prioritize others, ultimately leading to burnout and a loss of personal identity.

Spiritual warfare calls this Python—the stronghold that demands a sacrifice. And in making that sacrifice, we forfeit and reject the all sufficient sacrifice of Jesus.

The sacrifice of Jesus defines who we are.

Jesus wants to tell us who we are, to sing His love over us. He says: “My dearest one, let me tell you how I see you— you are so thrilling to me. Let me see your radiant face and hear your sweet voice. How beautiful your eyes of worship and lovely your voice in prayer.” Song of Songs‬ ‭1:9, 2‬:‭14‬ ‭TPT‬‬
“For the Lord your God is living among you. He is a mighty savior. He will take delight in you with gladness. With His love, He will calm all your fears. He will rejoice over you with joyful songs.”Zephaniah‬ ‭3‬:‭17‬ ‭NLT‬‬

Quiet your mind. Quiet you body. Quiet your spirit. Can you hear Him singing over you? Telling you who you are, and what He thinks of you? Posture your heart to receive His all sufficient sacrifice.

The law of sowing and reaping says the results we get are according to the types of seeds we plant. 🌱

Are you planting seeds of judgment or love? Seeds of negative belief systems or God’s truth? Seeds of negative expectations or hope and faith? Seeds of dishonor or honor and blessing? Look at the harvest of your life and ask Jesus to destroy the planting and harvesting that results in disconnection, destruction and death and to teach you how to plant seeds of connection, blessing and life. 🌱

This isn’t a trick question. Jesus wants your honest answer.

Honesty is the prerequisite for intimacy.

Do you want approval? Belonging? Recognition? Respect? Safety? Confidence? Intimacy? God is not shocked by your desires. He is not surprised that you crave comfort. He is not offended that you want respect. He just wants you to admit it so He can meet your needs.

Your desires are not design flaws or something to squelch. They are a homing beacon. Your desires and deepest dissatisfactions are actually pointing you home to the One who can meet your every need.

The enemy accuses.
Jesus atones.
The enemy is a prosecutor.
Jesus is the Great Physician.

When you cannot quiet the voice of shame that says “you are the problem,” “something is wrong with you,” ask Jesus to pull you from shame and place you at the cross where He can cleanse you. Ask Him to turn shame to conviction.

Conviction is yielding to the Great Physician who gently removes dysfunction and heals our wounds.

If you broke your arm or fell and cut open your head, you would never run and hide from the doctor. Instead, you would go straight to the doctor and say “help, I don’t know how to heal this.”

Run to the Great Physician today. He is the cure for shame. He died and lives to heal you and give you a life filled with joy, peace, love, and hope!

Admitting we are wrong is hard. When others point out our flaws, we get defensive, make excuses, and blame. We may label ourself as stubborn but maybe we are actually scared. Scared that if we are truly seen we will be rejected. We mistake redirection for rejection, correction for cancellation. And we stay stuck.

Confession is the antidote that frees us to move forward. Not just of our mistakes and sins but of our feelings and the state of our heart with its questioning, grief, pain, and nagging fears.

Our raw honesty before God is confession, like the Psalmists: “why have you forsaken me?” God works in truth—in our honesty, we invite Light and Truth which override fear, doubt, and shame. (Psalm 6 and Psalm 22) And in this place of confession we find mercy with the revelation that being fully known before the Lord is the place where we can deeply experience we are fully loved.

“Confess and you will find compassion and mercy” Proverbs 28:13

You are not a project to fix or a problem to solve— you are a reflection of the One in whose image you were made, ransomed by Jesus and crowned with everlasting joy. (Isaiah 51:11)
