🚨 FOSTER NEEDED FOR GINO BY 10/18! 🚨We are a Rottweiler rescue based in Gilbert, AZ. Gino is on the Maricopa County Animal Care & Control Euthanasia List. We must secure a foster by Sunday, October 18, or he will be euthanized.

ā¤ļø GINO is an 116lb, 3-year-old male Rottweiler; he was found 10/01 wondering a construction site near 91st Ave and Broadway Rd in Tolleson, AZ .

🐾Gino is friendly with people, loves pets, wiggles and wags his nub when interacting with staff. Allowed staff to handle him and took his vaccines well.
He has been and nonreactive to other dogs at the shelter.

šŸ“Œ WHY GINO IS ON THE EUTHANASIA LIST

His finder reported he frequently hu**ed her leg. During his shelter evaluation, he became overaroused, jumped on his handler, and began hu***ng. This behavior needs to be corrected before it leads to a more serious interaction.

Gino needs an experienced large guardian breed handler, a home without children, and preferably someone with training experience. His foster must be willing to limit physical interactions with him and work with our trainer to correct this behavior.

🩺 HEALTH Gino has an upper respiratory infection, bloody noses, and is quite sick, not eating, and in isolation. He needs to see our vet asap. He must remain separated from other animals, and his foster must wash up after handling him.

šŸ” FOSTER REQUIREMENTS
• Location: Phoenix metro area, preferably East Valley.
• Transportation: Drive him to vet appointments & meet-and-greets in Gilbert.
• No children in the home.
• Other pets: Must be kept separated until his behavior is corrected and he has recovered.
• Experience and commitment: Experienced with large guardian breeds and able to provide a calm, structured environment, patience, flexibility, and time for recovery. Must work with our trainer on his behavior.

🚨 FOSTER NEEDED FOR GINO BY 10/18!

We are a Rottweiler rescue based in Gilbert, AZ. We are not the county shelter. We are working to save Gino’s life. He is currently on the Maricopa County Animal Care & Control (MCACC) Euthanasia List, and we must secure a foster home by Sunday, October 18, or the shelter will euthanize him.

ā¤ļø What We Know About Gino

• Age/Breed: 3-year-old male Rottweiler
• Weight: 116 lbs
• Found: On 10/01, near 91st Ave and Broadway Rd in Phoenix, AZ 85353. Gino was wandering around a construction site when a nice woman was able to coax him to her car. He jumped right in, and she took him to MCACC.
• Personality: Friendly with people. He allowed staff to handle him and took his vaccines well. He loves pets and wiggles and wags his nub when interacting with staff.
• Behavior at the shelter: He has been quiet and nonreactive to other dogs.

šŸ“Œ Why Gino Is on the Euthanasia List

When Gino was found, his finder reported that he was constantly trying to hump her leg. During his evaluation at the shelter, he became over aroused, jumped on his handler, and began hu***ng.

This behavior has to be corrected before it leads to a more serious interaction, which is why Gino needs a specific type of foster.
Gino needs someone who is experienced handling large guardian breeds, has no children in the home, and preferably has training experience. The foster must be willing and able to limit physical interactions with Gino while working with our trainer to correct this behavior.

Gino has wonderful qualities and is great with people, but this behavior needs to be corrected.

🩺 Gino’s Health

Gino has developed an upper respiratory infection and has been experiencing bloody noses while at the shelter. He is pretty sick right now, is not eating, and is in isolation. We need to have him examined by our vet to determine what is causing his nose to bleed.

We understand that his illness may make a potential foster nervous. However, the majority of dogs entering the shelter end up getting sick, and it usually resolves after a week or two.

Gino will need to be kept separated from other animals, and his foster will need to wash up after handling him.

šŸ” Foster Requirements

• Location: Foster must be in the Phoenix metro area, preferably the East Valley.
• Transportation: If you live outside the East Valley, you must still be able and willing to drive Gino to vet appointments and meet-and-greets in Gilbert.
• No children: Gino needs a home without children.
• Other pets: If you have pets, you must be able to keep them separated from Gino until his behavior has been corrected and he has recovered from his illness. We can then facilitate an introduction.
• Experience and commitment: We need someone experienced with large guardian breeds who is committed and flexible, and willing to give Gino the time, patience, structure, and calm environment he needs while recovering from his upper respiratory infection. His foster must also be willing to work with our trainer to correct his behavior.

Update the finder gave him away to someone. We will keep him in our prayers that his new owner is an excellent owner who will give him everything he needs and treat him right.

Unfortunately the finder refused to follow my advice regarding his placement.

I 🚨🐾 STILL NO OWNER FOUND! AND NOW WE NEED A FOSTER! 🐾🚨

I posted this handsome boy a few days ago, and I am honestly shocked that nobody has come forward to claim him!

LOOK AT THAT FACE! šŸ˜ā¤ļø

Someone HAS to be missing this beautiful boy! He is incredibly sweet, ridiculously handsome, and has the kind of face that makes you fall in love instantly. I just can’t imagine that there isn’t someone out there heartbroken and searching for him.

He was found about a week ago near Guadalupe and Alma School in Mesa, AZ. Unfortunately, he has no tags and no microchip, so we have no way of finding his family.

šŸ’” WHERE ARE YOUR PEOPLE, HANDSOME BOY?

In the meantime, Rotten Rottie Rescue desperately needs a foster home for him! We want to make sure he has a safe, loving place to stay while we continue searching for his family.

šŸ” CAN YOU OPEN YOUR HOME TO THIS SWEET BOY?

If you live in the Phoenix area and can foster, please fill out a foster application on our website:

And PLEASE SHARE THIS POST! Somewhere out there, someone may recognize this face. One share could be all it takes to reunite him with the people who love him.

If you recognize him or know who he belongs to, please contact me directly. Proof of ownership will be required.

UPDATE (Oct.13) 🐾 We posted Balboa 4 days ago and have not received even one foster application for him. We have until Wednesday 10/14 to find a foster home for him.

UPDATE: Balboa is now on the euthanasia list at the Shelter! This situation is now urgent. We need to find a Foster right away. To save his life we have to find a Foster home by next Wednesday, 10/14.

🚨 FOSTER NEEDED: BALBOA | PHOENIX, AZ 🚨

Meet Balboa! ā¤ļø This 75 lb young male Rottweiler is currently at Maricopa County Animal Care & Control in Phoenix, Arizona. We’re being proactive and looking for a foster before he becomes at risk. Time is of the essence, and we need to find a placement sooner rather than later.

Balboa was brought to the shelter by his finder, who had cared for him for a week. He appeared very comfortable with and attached to his finder. When a staff member leaned over him and reached around him to scan for a microchip, Balboa gave a warning snap without making contact. When his finder took the scanner, leaned down in front of him, and scanned him, Balboa softened.

He was nervous during his first week at the shelter, but when we met him yesterday, we saw a young Rottweiler who loves balls and food! He has clearly not been well cared for. He needs a bath and nutritious food, and he is underweight with some growing left to do.

Due to his reaction during intake, we know Balboa can be fearful and reactive, so we’re looking for an experienced foster home without young children. His finder reported that he did well with their 16-year-old son and small dog, but we have limited information about his history.

Balboa also has a runny nose and may be coming down with kennel cough. He’ll need to be kept separate from other animals in the home while he recovers.

We don’t yet know what decision the shelter will make about Balboa’s future. We’re trying to get ahead of the situation and find a foster now, so we’re ready to help him if needed.

šŸ“ PHOENIX METRO AREA: Rotten Rottie Rescue is located in Gilbert, Arizona, and our veterinarian is also in Gilbert. The East Valley is preferred, but we will consider foster homes in the West Valley. Foster families must be willing and able to transport Balboa to any veterinary, rescue, or other appointments he may need.

Rotten Rottie Rescue will provide everything Balboa needs, including food, a kennel, bedding, toys, veterinary care, and training support.

We are looking for this boys family. He showed up in a neighborhood over near Guadalupe and Alma school, in mesa, Az. . He is over heated but looks like someone was taking care of him. He is very sweet. If he belongs to you please contact me asap. I’m not sure how long the finder will be able to keep him. Her own dogs has a history of not liking other dogs. So she is keeping them separated the best she can.

If you are interested in fostering him while we continue to look for his owners, please go to www.rottenrottie.com and click on the ā€œhow toā€ tab and select foster and fill out an application . He has no chip and no tag in his collar.

Everyone meet Adeline ā¤ļø.

On 9/13, Adeline was found with 2 male rottie’s. Animal control capturedļæ¼ them and brought them to Maricopa County animal care and control in Phoenix, AZ .

Shortly after getting to the shelter she became sick with an upper respiratory infection. She has spent the last few weeks in isolation and is getting better, but still has some symptoms. Due to her being in isolation, I was not allowed to interact with her, but I did see her interact with a staff member. She was all wiggles and wags. She was so sweet, wiggling and wagging while trying to see me over her big cone.

We don’t know a whole lot about her. What we do know is that she was used for breeding. You can tell that she just had a litter. She was found with 2 males, so we hope that she is at least good with boys; however, we never saw them interact with each other, so we are not sure how she felt about them. Her intake notes aren’t great, but they are identical to the other two dogs she was found with, so I don’t know that her intake notes applied specifically to her.

Adeline is kinda timid, but friendly. She wants nothing more than attention and food. It took her a while to warm up at the shelter, but it is a very scary and stressful place for the dogs.

ļæ¼If you are able to foster Adeline, she would need to be kept separate from your animals until she has fully recovered. I know asking someone to foster a dog that is currently sick is a big ask, but I have a feeling she is worth it ā¤ļø

If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out to us. If you would like to apply to foster Adaline, please go to our website www.rottenrottie.com and complete our foster application.

Please Note āž”ļø Our foster homes do need to be in the Phoenix area. We are located in Gilbert, Arizona, and our vet is located in Gilbert, Arizona. We need a foster that can help us get Adeline to any vet appointments and bring her to the rescue as needed.

āļø We cover all costs associated with Adeline. We will provide her food, kennel, bedding, medication, toys, vet care, and training if needed.

āļø In the comments, I have included a link to Adeline’s Shelter notes and to our Foster application. ā¬‡ļø

Everyone meet Doris ā¤ļø Doris is currently located at Maricopa County Animal Care and Control in Phoenix, Arizona.

On 9/8, Doris and her daughter were surrendered to MCACC after being found as strays. Doris is listed as 8yo. She was so gentle and patient with her young and hyper daughter. She was reported by her finder to be good with his small dog.

Her daughter has been adopted, but Doris still remains at the shelter, so we would like to help her get outta there and into a foster home with us.

Overall, Doris appears to be healthy. However, she has a mammary mass that needs checked by our vet and removed if necessary. She also has some arthritis in her back legs, so she could probably use a little bit of pain medication and supplement.

Doris is a calm older girl who enjoys squeaker toys and pets. From what I saw, she has a ton of patience and is a very gentle girl.

She is available for adoption through Maricopa County Animal Care and Control in Phoenix, AZ.

However, if you are interested in fostering a very calm, older female Rottweiler, please head to our website www.rottenrottie.com to complete the foster application.

Please Note āž”ļø Our foster homes do need to be in the Phoenix area. We are located in Gilbert, Arizona, and our vet is located in Gilbert, Arizona. We need a foster that can help us get Doris to her vet appointments and bring her to the rescue as needed.

āļø We cover all costs associated with Doris. We will provide her food, kennel, bedding, medication, toys, vet care, and training.

In rescue, I know I won’t be able to make everyone happy. But my first responsibility will always be to advocate for the dogs in our care. ā¤ļøšŸ¾

We know our dogs well, and we work hard to place them in homes where they can succeed. Our adoption decisions are based on what we know about each dog and the information applicants share with us.

For example, if a dog does not do well with other dogs, I cannot responsibly place that dog in a home with another pet. With a 100-pound Rottweiler, an unsuitable match can lead to serious injuries—to another animal or to someone trying to break up a fight. Saying no can be disappointing, but protecting everyone involved has to come first.

We also receive surrender requests when we simply don’t have room to take another dog. When that happens, I try to help owners understand their dog’s behavior and offer suggestions or resources. I know that isn’t always the answer they hoped for, and sometimes those difficult conversations result in a negative review.

What isn’t always reflected in our reviews are the hundreds of conversations that help families work through a problem and keep their dog. Or the adopters who are head over heels in love with their new family member. Or the owners we’ve helped when they felt they had nowhere else to turn.

I wish our Google and Yelp ratings reflected more of those experiences, too.

If Rotten Rottie Rescue has helped you with your dog, matched you with the dog of your dreams, or given you a meaningful experience as a volunteer, would you please take a minute to leave an honest review? Your words help others understand our work and the heart behind our decisions.

Thank you for supporting our rescue and the Rotties who depend on us. ā¤ļø

10/03/2026

This little gem was out wondering in an area in Buckeye for about 5 days before he finally went to a family and asked for help. He appears to be under a year old. The finder sent me a text that says:

ā€œHe is neutered im almost positive. I have 3 kids 5,8,11 and he is amazing with them. 3 cats (2 kittens and 1 senior cat) didn't care about them at all curious to befriend them though. 3 large dogs and they all get along.ā€

Of course if he is yours please contact me.

ā€œYep he is potty trained! We have 3 large dogs and he is playing great with them both female and other male dogs (they're fixed) and great with kids. A little skittish of my husband but sure he was beaten but will take treats from my husband and let him pet him if he gets down on his levelā€

She feels he would do better in a home with other dogs. She says his face lights up when he sees them.

He was scanned for a chip and none was found. She is convinced that he was dumped there. I guess houses are far and few between and he doesn’t belong to anyone in the area that she knows of.

Since she has so many animals she says she can’t keep him for too long and is asking me to find a foster home for him. If you are interested in this little guy, please go to www.rottenrottie.com and fill out a foster or adoption application asap.

You must live in the phoenix area to foster for us. If you live anywhere other then the east valley we will need you to transport him to gilbert for vet appointments and potential
Meet and greets and to pick up supplies that you will need for him. You can live anywhere in AZ and adopt from us.
