As our nation approaches the 250th anniversary of the founding of the United States, communities across the country are finding meaningful ways to celebrate. Here in Gilbert, we have a powerful opportunity to do what this town does best—serve.
For Our Town Gilbert is launching a community-wide goal of 25,000 hours of service in honor of America 250.
We invite every resident, family, school, business, church, and community organization in Gilbert to take part. Service can be big or small—what matters is that we come together as a town to strengthen our community through acts of kindness and contribution.
Here’s how people can participate:
Find ways to serve
Residents can discover volunteer opportunities throughout Gilbert by visiting JustServe.org or scanning the “Find Ways to Serve” QR code on the flyer.
Serve in any way that helps our community
Volunteer through an organization, help a neighbor, participate in a community project, or serve through a school, church, or workplace.
Track and log service hours
Participants can scan the “Log Your Hours” QR code on the flyer or click here to record their service time.
Include past service hours
To help us recognize the incredible service already happening in our community, hours can be logged retroactively starting from January of this year.
Our goal is simple but powerful:
25,000 hours of service from the citizens of Gilbert in honor of America’s 250th birthday. (We will also be submitting these hours to the Nationwide America 250 Service Tracker.)
We invite you to help us launch this effort by:
• Sharing the attached flyer with your networks
• Posting the campaign on your social media channels
• Encouraging your members, employees, and volunteers to participate
• Tracking and reporting the service your organization is already doing
Gilbert has always been a community that shows up for one another. Together, we can demonstrate what civic pride looks like in action.
Let’s show the country what service in Gilbert looks like.
