It was time to get these babies cleaned up from the hoard house case! This is part of the journey toward healing. ❤️‍🩹

About half of the last batch of 7 we took in had eye infections. All of them were completely infested with fleas. It took multiple Dawn dish soap baths, tons of flea combing, warm eye compresses to help move the infection out, refill after refill of fresh warm water after so much bloody water.

After bath time, they got a nice warm towel dry and blow dry followed by nail trims, eye and ear cleanings, eye meds, flea meds and all the snuggles.

One of the babies that came in was in especially rough shape. I’ve been calling him “Jim Bean”. Jim is a fighter. We’ve been doing 3+ syringe feedings per day. Today he seems to be feeling a little better!

Sometimes people ask us how we do it. The answer is simple. These sweet little souls deserve all of the love, compassion and care that any owned pet would get. Just because they are feral or community cats doesn’t make them any less deserving.

It’s going to be a slow process and a long journey toward healing but we’re here for these little ones to help support them along the way!

The amount of FVRCP vaccines that OFS goes through in a month is obscene 😀 Every tray vaccinates 25 felines. Every tray costs $116. We go through 2-5 trays per a month for OFS cats.

Did you know that you can buy trays of FVRCP vaccines online? They are the same trays that most vets use! The vaccines do expire within the year though, so only best if you have many cats to treat. https://www.allivet.com/product/nobivac-feline-1-hcpch---25-ds-tray/28823.html

Also, they sell FVRCP vaccines, individually, at most local farm stores. Like Tractor Supply or any farm and feed store. Cost is, usually, $15-20 per a vaccine.
