⚜️Troop 217 earned the 🛼 Roller Skating Merit Badge tonight thanks to BSA Troop 282 Gig Harbor, Washington and the Key Peninsula Civic Center - Lots of fun, falls and a few bruises but well worth it!

⚜️Troop 217 enjoyed another Alaska Airlines aviation day this weekend. Scouts saw military and civilian aircraft, flew a 737 simulator, met Alaska Airline Flight Attendants & Pilots and earned their Aviation Merit Badge! ✈️

⚜️ Troop 217 Scouts volunteered some time this past weekend at the Haven’s Rest Cemetery honoring Veterans by placing a flag at their graves and delivering a salute. 🇺🇸

⚜️Troop 217’s 2027 Philmont crew braved the trails, waterfalls, hills and peaks of the Dosewallips Trail. 🏕️ Camped at Elkhorn, enjoyed one too many freeze dried camp meals, spent a 🔥 Friendship Fire with Troop 681 from Seattle and Troop 148 from U.P!
All in, we traveled 14 miles and got a little more prepped for Philmont! 🥾

⚜️Troop 217 Scouts attended the Camp Thunderbird Trail to First Class weekend. They earned advancement signatures and learned tons of Scout skills. Four of our older Scouts staffed the event, teaching fire building, first aid and nature! ⛺️

⚜️ Troop 217 attended the Gig Harbor City Council meeting tonight. They led the opening with the Pledge of Allegiance and took notes on current and upcoming docket items in support of the city, the communications merit badge and citizenship in the community merit badge. Thanks to Mayor Mary Barber and her staff for allowing our Scouts to participate in their community. 🇺🇸

⚜️Troop 217 practiced map, compass and GPS navigation at the Frederickson Wilderness Park & enjoyed an overnight at the Kitsap Memorial State Park using backpacking skills and preparations for a Philmont trek next year summer. 🧭🎒

A few scouts from ⚜️Troop 217 got a chance to provide a very early morning fire and support of the St. John’s Episcopal Easter vigil Sunday morning.

⚜️Troop 217 Scouts earned the Automotive Maintenance merit badge and got to see really cool cars - close and personal - at the LeMay - America's Car Museum in Tacoma! 🚗
