📢 Buffalo Nation Awarded LCRA Community Grant

We are honored and grateful to announce that Buffalo Nation has been awarded a Community Grant from LCRA!

This funding will help support the construction of an ADA-compliant restroom and important electrical upgrades at Building 979. These improvements will make our facility more accessible, safer, and better equipped to serve local teens, young adults, and families for years to come.

We are incredibly thankful to LCRA for investing in rural communities and helping organizations like ours continue to grow our impact. Every improvement brings us one step closer to creating a welcoming space where young people can connect, learn, and build a brighter future.

Thank you to everyone who has supported Buffalo Nation and Building 979 along the way. We couldn't do this without our community.

📢 Buffalo Nation Update | May 28, 2026

🥵 First off — THANK YOU to everyone who donated toward box fans for local families and individuals preparing with the upcoming Texas heat. Because of your generosity, we were able to collect enough support for 8 fans so far. We are now looking for two small window units (must be new).

🚴 and... THANK YOU for every single bike that was donated. We are still looking for a few additional bikes for people who do not otherwise have reliable transportation. If you have a bike you would be willing to donate, please message us!

👷🏻‍♂️Meanwhile, renovations at Building 979 continue moving forward. The front exterior recently received a major facelift, and we are now beginning major interior renovations with the help of Christiansen Brothers!!

🗣 Huge shoutout as well to H&R FOAM Insulation LLC and Cesar Guzman and his crew for painstakingly helping along this journey. Annnnd thank you to Weiser Becker Surveyors to fielding all my calls and requests! Y'all are the best!

Still a ways to go — but we’re moving forward inch by inch.

All these dresses are now available Buffalo Traders Resale Shop !!!

‼️👗PROM 2025 DRESSES AVAILABLE 👗‼️

We have an incredible opportunity for GHS junior and senior girls who are headed to prom but don’t yet have a dress. 💛

We currently have 17 beautiful dresses available — and we would love to see them worn and enjoyed on prom night! Some pictures are included, but not all dresses are shown.

There are a few dresses that will need an alteration/fix (perhaps a zipper needs attention) and we will be happy to help with these using a local seamstress.

👗 Details:

👀 Dresses are FREE to use
✅️ We ask for a $25 cleaning fee
🔙 Dress must be returned after prom

🎯 Our goal is simple:

👉 Every girl should feel confident, beautiful, and included on prom night.

Volunteer/Service Opportunity: Adopt-A-Highway Help Needed! 🛣️
Buffalo Nation's two-mile stretch spans the high school on Hwy 77. 🦬

Friends… we are officially overdue for our litter pick-up commitment -- like grossly, severely, embarrassingly overdue!

We need 15+ volunteers for just two hours on a Saturday morning. If you have a group needing community service hours AND who doesn't mind a little dirty work, consider this opportunity. We have vests, gloves, trash pickers, and trash bags!

✔️ Easy & meaningful (visible highway beautification)
✔️ Students can earn community service hours (but we do need adult supervision)
✔️ Tentative date is next Saturday morning, 2/28/26
