Living in Liberty was founded in 2012 from one simple “yes” to God’s calling. After learning about the reality of s*x trafficking both overseas and here in the U.S., Elizabeth Echevarria stepped out in faith to create a safe place for women in Pittsburgh seeking freedom, healing, and restoration. What began with compassion and obedience became Living in Liberty 🤍

As we walk alongside women who have experienced s*xual exploitation, our prayer is that they would not only find safety and restoration, but lasting freedom through Christ. We are honored to partner with Him in bringing hope, healing, and love to the women we serve.

At Living in Liberty, we believe prevention starts with truth:
Consent cannot be assumed or erased.
People are not content.
Healing and accountability must replace silence and normalization.
We don’t just respond to exploitation after it happens—we work to interrupt the systems and narratives that make it easier to happen in the first place.
If this topic is uncomfortable, that discomfort matters. It means we’re finally paying attention to something that has been hidden in plain sight.

Honored to be on a panel with these fellow workers in the fight against human trafficking at the Pittsburgh Pastoral Care Conference!

Thank you to the leaders, planners, volunteers and attendees of the Pittsburgh Pastoral Care Conference held at Saints John & Paul Catholic Church- Saint Luke the Evangelist Catholic Parish in Wexford. We appreciated the opportunity to have a table and connect with other people who serve the our communities and to be on a panel and bring further awareness to human trafficking and child exploitation.
