Law Enforcement Memorial Eagle Scout Project
My name is Gunnar Dochnal, and I am a Life Scout in Troop 1234, a member of Law Enforcement Explorer Post 1924, and a freshman at Oscar A. For my Eagle Scout Project, I am constructing a memorial in honor of all Federal, State, and Local Law Enforcement, especially to honor those who have given the ultimate sacrifice. It will be located at the CBP Stat
ion at 14801 Middle Gibraltar Rd in Gibraltar, MI 48173. The project consists of a brick column with plaque resting inside a badge shaped raised garden bed. There will also be benches constructed for those that need a moment of contemplation at the site. The memorial column will be built with black glazed brick with a blue glazed brick line running through it. The brick design was chosen to represent the protection Law Enforcement provides us against those who would seek to do us harm. This project honors the dedication, sacrifices and heroism that law enforcement officers make on a daily basis and serves as a reminder to everyone what they and their families go through. This is the opportunity to show our thankfulness for those who risk and sacrifice so much for those around them. The cost of materials for constructing this memorial is $4,800.
