Thank you to everyone who joined us for our May meeting! And a special thank you to Seminary Ridge Museum and Education Center's Codie Eash, who delivered an excellent program despite our unexpected technical issues. We’re working with Gettysburg History to prevent future livestream or presentation problems, and we appreciate everyone’s patience.

If you’d like to watch Codie’s full presentation *with* slides, you can view a recording of the same program here:

Some snaps from last evening's excellent program, with the announcement by Therese Orr, Chair of the Book Committee, of this years' recipient of the Bachelor Coddington Book Achievement award, and the fascinating presentation by Coddie Eash, Director of Education and Interpretation...."Did R.E. Lee use the Seminary Cupola during the battle?"
The Book Award winner was "The Weather Gods Curse the Gettysburg Campaign", by Jeff Harding and Jonathan Nese.
Because of an unfortunate malfunction in the power point, the program was not live-streamed, but Codie said he did the same presentation previously, and it can be viewed with the power point on YouTube at "Seminary Ridge Museum: Did R.E.Lee use the cupola in the Battle of Gettysburg"
Despite being unable to use his power point, Codie did a great job of presenting all the evidence pro and con that he has uncovered in his research. So, the answer to the question of... was he, or wasn't he in the cupola.........most believe he was not.... but only The Shadow knows for sure!!

An excellent program last evening to a full house by Ron Kirkwood, who presented anecdotes from his second book about the historic George Spangler Farm. "Tell Mother Not to Worry" . Ron's book has received the 2025 Gettysburg Civil War Roundtable's prestigious Bacheldor - Coddington Book Achievement Award. Thanks Ron for adding a wealth of knowledge to our understanding of this militarily and medically important farm.

Some snaps from our February meeting with NPS Ranger & Historian Richard Condon's presentation of "Pittsburgh at Gettysburg" Rich spoke about the regiments whose soldiers were primarily from Pittsburgh, and highlighted soldiers from those regiments. A highly enjoyable and informative program.
We also had a "Good 5 Minutes" with Brian Kennell, Superintendent of The Evergreen Cemetery to speak about the current restoration project. Gettysburg CWRT presented him with a donation of $1000.00 towards that project.
The meeting was live-streamed and can be viewed at cwrtgettysburg.org.
Next meeting March 26th with Stephen Evangelista..."The Gettysburg Gun". Guests always welcome!

Some snaps from our November roundtable meeting. We began with "5 Good Minutes", a conversation with Pete Miele, Senior Project Manager of the Susquehanna Discovery Center & Heritage Park Project in Wrightsville, PA. The mission of this project is to transform the 225 year old historic Mifflin House farmstead into a regional visitor center. The 87 acre heritage park will feature the Mifflin's stone house, which served as a stop on the Underground Railroad, and programs telling stories of freedom, and Civil War history; a visitor's center in a 160 year old bank barn; a River Art Museum: and trails interpreting the Underground Railroad & the 1863 Battle of Wrightsville.
Our speaker for the evening was author & historian Hampton Newsome, who presented the. little known to most, "The Blackberry Raid", which occurred in Virginia at the time as the Battle of Gettysburg. It was a failed attempt by Union forces to capture Richmond. Hampton was an engaging speaker and we thank him for his informative power point talk. The program can be viewed in it's entirety via our web page cwrtgettysburg.org.
