Folks, one last time:

We are NOT organizing/operating the soccer tournament being held at Mt St Marys Univ next weekend. We have NOTHING to do with that event.

Folks, again, we regret to have had to make the decision, but the 2017 Gettysburg Memorial Day Cup tournament has been cancelled.
After being made aware that there is another tournament out there with our name, I feel it is necessary to make all of our previous coaches and teams aware that the tournament being advertisied is NOT the same tournament. It is NOT being organized by the same people, there will NOT be the same staff, and while they say it will be the same format, there is no way that will be the case as Got Soccer cannot accommodate our format. All the advertising they are posting was copied from our site, WORD FOR WORD. They did NOT offer a tournament last year or host 200 teams. WE were the ONLY tournament in Gettysburg and surrounding areas last Memorial Day weekend, as well as previous weekends for a number of years. All of the advertising posted for that tournament is false.
You are absolutely free to attend any tournament you may like. However, please be aware the tournament out there using our name is NOT the same tournament associated with this page, the Memorial Day Cup website, or email address. While imitation is a sincere form of flattery, the advertising posted for the other tournament using our name is all completely false and shameful that a tournament will copy our name and advertising in an attempt to confuse participants.

We greatly appreciate your patronage and the support we've had from all teams, coaches and parents over the years.

We highly recommend teams consider the Hershey Memorial Day Challenge tournament, held at sites in and around Hershey, PA, the sweetest place on earth. Information regarding that tournament and applications can be found at www.hersheysoccer.com

Have you submitted your application for our fall kick off tournament, The GETTYSBURG CLASH yet?? The tournament will be held August 20-21 and will offer the same format and same venues as the Memorial Day Cup. Applications are available on the Got Soccer website:

Applications will be available until July 31 with acceptance notification being made August 2.

Dont forget, the CLASH tournament is also a Red Card Cancer event with a portion of all tournament registration fees, in addition to any monies collected during the event, being donated directly to the RCC program which supports the Sidney Kimmel Cancer Center at John's Hopkins.

We are now accepting applications for our fall tournament, the Gettysburg Clash which will be held August 20-21 at sites in and around Gettysburg. If you want to attend the Gettysburg tournament where you are guaranteed the same format, 3 mini seeding games and three championship round games, the Clash is the tournament for you! The Clash is organized and hosted by the same people who brought you the Memorial Day Cup---we are the local people who know the fields, have the contacts and have been organizing tournaments in Gettysburg since the early 1990s so we have the experience to pull off a successful event, no matter what.

Points will be awarded to participating teams through Got Soccer at the completion of the event.

Now that the tournament is over, we want to thank all the players, coaches, parents and families for another successful event. We hope everyone had an enjoyable time, despite the heat and humidity. With your help, we are able to make a considerable donation to the Red Card Cancer program that already exceeds $16,000 and we haven't even begun counting the donation jars and money from the sale of the wristbands!

Don't forget, we will be hosting our fall tournament, the Gettysburg Clash, August 20-21 at sites in and around Gettysburg. This tournament IS sanctioned by EPYSA. The tournament format is the same and we will again be supporting the Red Card Cancer program with a portion of all registration fees being donated to the program. Registration is now open.

We had another team withdraw tonight about 8pm in the u15-16 boys age group. Schedues were rewritten AGAIN with as little change as possible. Coaches were notified by email with the new schedules attached. The new schedule is NOT posted on the website but will be posted at the site administration tent at the college

Due to some very late withdraws, we have had to update the schedules for teams playing at Gettysburg College this weekend. All age groups EXCEPT the u18 boys were affected. Emails with all the information and the UPDATED SCHEDULES were sent out to all affected coaches earlier this evening. Updated schedules were also sent to the webmaster for posting. PLEASE MAKE SURE ALL TEAM PARENTS ARE AWARE OF THE SCHEDULE CHANGES!

A few reminders:
Tournament Tshirts can still be preordered until May 23. All orders will be filled at the full price as the May 7 preorder special pricing has expired. All preordered shirts will be available to be picked up at registration Friday night at the Gettysburg Fire Dept. Community Room. Order forms are on our website, www.gettysburgmemorialdaycup.com

We still have beds available utilizing dorms at Gettysburg College. If you are having trouble finding hotel rooms in the area, College Accommodations may be your solution. Reservation forms are available on our website and are due no later than May 21.

We also still have tickets available for our annual Saturday night All You Can Eat buffet. Order forms are also available on our website along with the menu.

COACHES: If you havent already submitted your registration information, either by directly uploading into the Got Soccer software or by emailing us a PDF file of you roster and player passes, please do so no later than SUNDAY, MAY 21. Any team that does NOT preregister MUST attend registration on Friday night. We will NOT register teams on the fields on Saturday morning.

We are finishing up the schedules for Saturday morning games and expect to have them out this weekend. We will be utilizing fields at the following sites:
Biglerville High School: u14b, u12g
Biglerville Elementary: u11b
Gettysburg College: u14g, u16g, u17/18g, u15b, u16b, u17/18b
James Gettys Elementary: u10g, u11g
Gettysburg High School: u9g, u13g, u15g, u9b, u10b, u12b, u13b
We know there are several coaches who have more than one team participating and we have tried our best to accommodate your requests, however, we have to work within the confines of the fields available and how to best use those fields with the almost 250 teams participating. Please make sure you have at least one assistant coach available.
