The night before the Miss Gettysburg Competition, I completed my final appearance at the 17th annual Women’s Purse Auction in support of the United Way of Adams County. Hosted at the Gettysburg Hotel, I was able to volunteer with the event, meeting some familiar and new faces along the way, all in support of such an amazing organization. The next time I wear this crown will be to give it away to the future Miss Gettysburg!

Returning to a place I haven’t been to since my elementary field trip, the Winters Heritage House in Elizabethtown, Pennsylvania.

The historical connected buildings, consisting of a German log house, a Scouse-Irish log house, and a brick a timber shop, is celebrating women’s history month. If you’re ever in the area, I highly recommend checking it out! Thank you to Theresa for explaining the history of the house and making sure we got the most out of our visit.

Miss Gettysburg takes on DC! 🏛️

It’s women’s history month, and what better place to learn about influential women than in Washington DC? From First Ladies to learning more about Her Story in music, I was able to discover the women who have paved the way for us today. While the women in history have taken us here, it is now up to us to light the way for the future.

Located at the Gettysburg Hotel, the money raised from this event goes to the two organizations that help with early education and provided resources to youth with significant life challenges.

What do monsters and philosophy have to do with each other?

A lot, actually!

Thank you to Professor Valmisa for selecting my work in the Philosophy of Monster first year seminar to be a part of CAFE Symposium at Gettysburg College!

The Celebration of Academic First-Year Engagement aims to give a platform for freshmen at the college to present their work to the public, faculty, and students. Not only could I present my own work, but I could learn from the work of my peers and engage in strong academic discussions.

I was able to transform my final project from the class into an informational poster board, from which I could share my research and studies with the symposium. The final project itself consisted of choosing a monster and analyzing it via a philosophical topic that the monster represented. This class has introduced me to the world of philosophy, a subject which I hope to study further through my time at the college.

Thank you also to Gettysburg College and The Musselman Library for hosting the event (as well as answering all my abundant questions)!

Last weekend was the Miss Lancaster County Scholarship Competition, and the crowning of 6 new titleholders! It was great to see so many talented individuals, familiar and new, and I can’t wait to see what’s next for the new queens of Lancaster County!

So excited to hand my crown to the next MISS GETTYSBURG!!!

The Miss PA Scholarship Foundation is thrilled to announce that Miss Gettysburg will be held Saturday, March 23, 2024 at the Gettysburg Community Theatre located at 49 York Street, within the first block of Lincoln Square in downtown Gettysburg, PA. Tickets and more information will soon be available online at www.GettysburgCommunityTheatre.org,

Brought to you by Chad-Alan Carr and the Gettysburg Community Theatre, they are thrilled to produce the first ever Miss Gettysburg competition, a prelim to Miss Pennsylvania and the iconic Miss America Competition. The Miss America Organization is the largest provider of scholarships for women and teens in the nation, awarding more than one million in academic scholarships to deserving women and teens.

Gettysburg Community Theatre is a non-profit 501c3 charitable organization located within the first block of Lincoln Square in downtown Gettysburg, PA. GCT was founded in 2009 under the direction of Founding Executive/Artistic Director, Chad-Alan Carr. GCT is the only year-round community theatre in Adams County and produces around 80 performances a year with two staff members and 100 volunteers and students of all ages and abilities. GCT offers educational opportunities with its annual Summer Theatre Camps, as well as evening classes for adults and children. GCT has auditions for all productions of plays and musicals, with some being for adults, some for children, and some for mixed generation cast shows. GCT has an Improv Troupe, Piano Bar Cabarets, and also a theatre program for actors with special needs. Now in its 16th year, GCT looks forward to providing more educational and performance opportunities with the addition of the new Scholarship Program, Miss Gettysburg!

We are so excited for young women and teens have an additional opportunity to grow their leadership and professional skills, as well as earn valuable scholarships as part of Miss America in the Gettysburg area!
