MRC Youth Deer Hunt provides the opportunity for a select number of first-time youth hunters to learn about safe and ethical hunting, gain necessary skills needed to become a hunter, and have the opportunity to harvest their first deer.

Our annual youth deer hunting weekend is finally here! All of our youth and their parents are here and all checked in at Browns Lodge and Hunting Ranch! Our volunteers are going over gun and hunting safety with the crew now, next up we will hit the range for some shooting practice!

We got some great news yesterday! 🎉 One of our youth hunters filled his tag back home on the last day of the season and we couldn’t be more proud! This is our whole goal of the program, to provide the education and tools to young hunters and their families so they can take them back home and get into the field! Congrats Corbin, it was so nice to meet you and your dad. See you in the field next year!

Our weekend has come to a close and the hunters and their families are headed back home. Such a great group to have made memories of a lifetime with! We had one successful first time hunter and I think the smiles on their faces says it all! Congratulations young man and we hope to see you and your dad out in the field for years to come! The other youth hunters are headed back home and will hopefully have the opportunity to fill their tags before January 1st. Another great year in the books….looking forward to year number FIVE!

The youth hunters, their guardians, and their guides hit the shooting range yesterday morning to work on their marksmanship. This was most of their first times ever shooting a rifle! Chilly morning but fun was had by all!
Everyone headed out to their blinds in the afternoon and saw deer but unfortunately didn’t notch their tags….but can anyone guess what great news we have this morning!? Stay tuned!

We want to give a huge shout out to another new sponsor! First Interstate Bank of Gettysburg graciously donated 3 BOG Deathgrip tripods to our youth hunt. The kiddos are practicing on the range with them this morning! Also a huge thank you to Scott, Kim & Rayson (last year youth hunt participant) Sheehan for organizing this!
