Posting for our friends at . Apply now! A Soil Conservation Technician will be hired as a full-time employee of the Jefferson County Soil and Water Conservation District (Conservation District). Job duties and time will be split working for the Conservation District and for the United States Department of Agriculture Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS). Time is estimated to be split approximately 25/75, with 25% time directed to Conservation District programs in Jefferson County and 75% towards NRCS programs.
The Conservation District and NRCS work in close partnership to provide funding and technical resources for the purpose of protecting and improving natural resources (soil, water, air, wildlife). The Soil Conservation Technician will be trained by NRCS staff working in the Shelby County Work Unit which includes Jefferson, Shelby, Oldham, Henry, Trimble, Franklin, Woodford, and Anderson County.
