Yard of the Month for May is the pretty French Colonial home of Matt Roberts
at 2546 Hollyhock Cove. Topiaries flank the double front doors, flowers bloom along a row of bushes and the grass is pristine!

YARD OF THE MONTH
There is a spectacular spring showcase at the home of Marilyn Satterfield at 2616 Overlook Drive. The balance of pink azaleas and white dogwoods is perfection. Check out this lovely yard.

The Tennessee Department of Transportation (TDOT) contract crews will be closing the southbound lanes of Germantown Road this weekend for repairs to the Wolf River Bridge. The weekend work is in preparation for the future 10-day closure that will begin the following weekend. All work is weather-dependent.

Friday, April 5, 8 p.m. through Monday, April 8, 6 a.m. and Friday, April 12, 8 p.m. through Monday, April 22, 6 a.m. During these dates, southbound Germantown Road will be closed and northbound lanes will be open.

Our annual Germantown Night Out is scheduled for Oct. 3 from 5-7pm. Join us for Diamond Dave's Food Truck, Muddy's Bake Shop for our treats, the GERMANTOWN FIRE AND POLICE DEPT as well as McGruff the crime dog.

While we still urge you to observe neighborhood speed limits of 25 mph, it's time to take down any "Slow Down, G'Town!" signs that you have in your yards.

Thank you for participating in our campaign to spread this important information among drivers in residential areas. Watch for more initiatives from the City's Neighborhood Traffic Task Force in the future.

YARD OF THE MONTH
Congrats Philip and Monica Brooks at 2652 Hollyhock Dr.
Philip has transformed and created a gorgeously landscaped front yard. He removed old bushes and replaced them with an appealing mix of Japanese maples, hostas, oak leaf hydrangeas and colorful annual flowers. Recently, Philip and Monica completely relandscaped the backyard and added a covered fireplace and living area. Keep on mowin' neighbors!

Water testing is still underway with results expected later today.
In the meantime, a water distribution location will open at Forest Hill Elementary School, 3368 Forest Hill Irene Road. Distribution will begin at 4 p.m. and operate until 7 p.m., or until supplies are depleted. Water will be available to those who cannot access water from another source.
