💙Honoring History, Celebrating Freedom, and Serving Our Community! 💙

Our chapter proudly participated in the Annual Scotland Juneteenth Heritage Festival in Montgomery County. We hosted an informational table alongside many other community organizations and vendors, sharing information about our programs, scholarship opportunities, and the work we do throughout the community.

It was another successful event filled with fellowship, education, culture, and community engagement!

Following the festival, we proudly joined the Juneteenth Parade, riding on a float alongside our fellow NPHC organizations and showcasing our Black Greek pride. As members of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Incorporated, we were especially proud to celebrate the legacy of Soror Opal Lee, affectionately known as the "Grandmother of Juneteenth," whose tireless advocacy played a pivotal role in making Juneteenth a federally recognized holiday.

Thank you to everyone who stopped by our table, attended the festival, and helped make the day a memorable celebration of freedom, history, and community.

Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Incorporated honors Juneteenth, also known as Freedom Day, as an historic moment in American history. On June 19, 1865, news of the Emancipation Proclamation finally reached the last enslaved individuals in Galveston, Texas, marking the true beginning of freedom for all.

We proudly recognize the efforts of our own trailblazing Soror, Opal Lee, the “Grandmother of Juneteenth,” whose unwavering advocacy helped make Juneteenth a federally recognized holiday in 2021.

Today, we celebrate emancipation, reflect on our ancestors’ strength and resilience, and recommit to the work of advancing justice, equity, and unity. Through education, action, and solidarity, we move closer to a world rooted in true freedom for all.

During last Saturday's chapter meeting, we had the pleasure of celebrating one of our beloved Sorors as she prepares for her upcoming wedding. We enjoyed sweet treats, fellowship, and shared in the excitement of this special milestone.

As a Charter Member of our chapter, she has been an important part of our journey from the very beginning, and we are thrilled to celebrate this new chapter in her life.

Congratulations, Soror Quajalyn Amos! Wishing you a lifetime of love, happiness, and beautiful memories. 💙🤍
