Sometimes life becomes heavier than we ever imagined. For David*, the weight of ministry challenges, family health struggles, and long-carried emotional burdens eventually brought him to a breaking point.

Through our Adult Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP), he found more than practical tools for healing. He experienced compassionate, evidence-based care rooted in the hope of Christ.

Today, David is back serving in ministry and uses his own story to encourage others that it's okay to ask for help.

Even in life's darkest moments, God often works through the people He places around us.

After unexpectedly losing their wife and mother, Donn and his daughters faced an unimaginable season of grief. Through the love of their church family, their faith in Christ, and our School-Based Counseling program, they found compassionate support and hope for the road ahead.

Some reminders are worth coming back to again and again. We appreciate this reflection from Be Underground. Anxiety can make us feel like we need to carry every burden ourselves, but God continually invites us to bring our concerns to Him in prayer and rest in His care.

If you're feeling overwhelmed today, take a moment to read through this post and spend a few quiet minutes with these verses. May God's peace guard your heart and mind in Christ Jesus. đź’™

I love this passage. It tells us outright that we don't have a good reason to be anxious. Why? Because we have a good God who is on the case. He will work all for good.

However, this is hard for us to trust and live.
So He gives us a plan on how to offload our anxiety: "in every situation, by prayer and petition, present your requests to God." I was about to write, "Give it all to God." But the reality is, he already has it! He already cares for you and is doing what needs to be done. However, when we pray and present those requests to God, we loosen our grasp on the steering wheel. We stop white knuckling and we let the rollercoaster do its thing, trusting we are securely fastened in by God's goodness and his grace.

That's when the peace comes in, that peace that goes beyond understanding. It is like the reckless abandon of jumping out of a plane, firmly secured to the instructor strapped to your back. You dont even need to pull the string for the parachute. Just scream in thrill and joy! That's a peace that passes most of our understanding, I think!

The peace that we can have because our God is for us and not against us, our sins are forgiven and our past forgotten, our tomorrow is secure and our anxieties accounted for, is truly beyond comprehension and earthly understanding.

But as Christians, we can taste it. We can lean into it. We can be still and know that HE is God, we are not.
.. and HE is for us.

Romans 8:31-32
If God is for us, who can be against us? He who did not spare his own Son, but gave him up for us all—how will he not also, along with him, graciously give us all things?

Psalm 46:10
Be still, and know that I am God.

Whole-person care means caring for both the mind and the soul. That's the heart behind our church-based counseling clinics.

By partnering with local congregations, we're making Christian mental health care more accessible while creating a natural connection between clinical counseling and the encouragement found in a church community. It's a model that's helping individuals and families find hope during some of life's darkest seasons.

In this story from our Healing & Helping magazine, you'll hear from Pastor John Borgwardt of Living Word Lutheran Church and CFS Counselor (and pastor) Mark Tiefel about the impact these partnerships are having and why the need continues to grow.

Church-based counseling clinics bring healing and hope by partnering with churches to bring Christian counseling and therapy to their communities.

One moment changed everything. After surviving a near-death experience, John Alan Sebald thought the hardest part was over. Instead, he found himself facing an invisible battle with trauma, anxiety, and PTSD.

Like many people, John wondered, "What's wrong with me?" He questioned why he wasn't "getting better" and whether his faith should have been enough to overcome what he was experiencing.

When his pastor connected him with CFS, John found professional, Christian counseling care that helped him understand trauma, begin healing, and ultimately discover a renewed sense of purpose.

Today, John is sharing his story to encourage others who may be struggling and to thank the supporters whose generosity helped make his care possible.

His journey is a powerful reminder that healing is possible, and that when we invest in the lives of others, God often multiplies that impact in ways we could never imagine.

Stress. Anxiety. Trauma. Relationship struggles. In a fast-paced world, finding true peace can feel out of reach with so much occupying our time and thoughts.

But what if peace isn't found by emptying our minds but by nourishing them with God's truth?

In her latest article, Arizona counselor Naomi Ruppel-Warnke, LMFT, explores the practice of biblical mindfulness—intentionally bringing our thoughts, emotions, and anxieties before God while anchoring ourselves in His promises through prayer and Scripture.

One of the greatest gifts we can help children develop is humility.

We really appreciate this reminder from Raising Boys and Girls. In a culture that often celebrates being first or being noticed, humility teaches children to listen well, value others, and help others to succeed.

These are the kinds of habits that build strong friendships and reflect Christ's love for others.
