Half Price on Lest We Forget Book!

In celebration of Memorial Day and Independence Day, the Germantown Historical Society is offering the Lest We Forget book for $20 from now until July 31, 2023! The book, which normally sells for $40, starts with the Germantown men who fought in the Black Hawk War (1833-1834). It continues with all the Germantown Veterans who served in military service. GHS member, Mary Jansen-Parrent, did hours of research and, along with other GHS members, interviewed many Veterans. Their war stories and memories are told in this book. Lest We Forget is not only a great history book, it is also a wonderful family keepsake.

The book is available for sale at the Germantown Public Library. Hours are: Mon & Wed 10 am-3:30 pm, Tue & Thur 1-7 pm, Fri 1-5 pm, Sat 9-11 am. If you cannot come to the library to purchase a book, GHS will mail one to you for $20 plus postage. Contact Judy Poettker, 618-523-8124. Also, check us out on Facebook, Germantown Historical Society, Germantown IL.
