In addition to being a place for readers to browse independently and grow their love of reading, the Scholastic Book Fair is a fundraiser for PTSA events. Our May 2026 Book Fair raised $1,900 in cash and $500 in Scholastic Dollars. These funds support books for the district library, March’s Pick a Reading Partner literacy program, May Author Visits, Guest Speakers, and more free book coupons for our Clippers!

Our pictures highlight, among other things, the good cheer of our student volunteers, who leapt in to help check out shoppers, perform quality control checks on the stickers from the sticker bin, fold tablecloths, tidy shelves, and pack up the fair at the end of the week. Our grown-up volunteers were pretty great, too—Thank you to you all!

Watch this space: We’re planning a Buy One Get One Free Book Fair this summer.

Drop us a line if you’d like to get involved with the Book Fair or any other PTSA event.

We loved dancing with the 47 smalls and 65 talls who joined us for our first Tall and Small Ball Germantown Central School District!

Thanks to your donations we are in good shape for planning another Tall and Small Ball for next year (and another dance for older kiddos, too!) Thank you Danyelle, Ashley, Bella, Heather, and Amy for leading our Dance Committee in planning a lovely event to bring our Clipper community together. Thanks, too, to every person who helped with an opinion, errand, glitter tattoo, snack run, and cheer.

Events like this are made possible by the good will and passion of parents and teachers who give extra time to help our kiddos have memories worth celebrating. Join the PTSA to get support on starting a new tradition at GCS!

We love getting mail! Especially when we get to hear our Clippers reflect on their academic and civic success.

The PTSA is honored to work with the Germantown Central School District MS/HS team to provide Citizenship Awards to students in grades 7-12 and High Achievement Awards for seniors with a GPA of 90 and above.

Congratulations to the 2026 Citizenship Award Winners:
Emma S, Julianna S, Sophia K, Chloe S, Sophia M, and Amelia S.
Students in grades 7-11 are awarded $50 each and $75 goes to the senior Citizenship Award Winner.

Next up: A round of applause for the 2026 Senior High Achievement Award Winners:
Spencer J., Owen K., Max L., Emma S, and Elisha S.
These students are awarded $100 each.

Here are some highlights from the first round of thank you notes:

“This important award will encourage me to work even harder, in and out of school. It will remind me to never give up and keep moving.”

“I will be putting this award money towards books for college and I am truly so thankful!”

“I really appreciate the recognition and it inspires me to keep contributing positively to our school and community.”

“This scholarship will help me with college expenses. I feel blessed to review this.”

“It’s nice to be recognized for hard work and dedication. Thank you.”

“I appreciate you guys and all that you do!”

“As I prepare to leave GCS, I will fondly look back and remember all of the events that the PTSA has sponsored. This card is not only thanks for the award, but a thanks for your commitment to our school. Know your presence makes a difference and your actions to better the community are recognized.”

Finally, thank you, Deanna, for encouraging these Clippers to write thank you notes — and setting them up for success with everything they need to get the job done!

Go, Clippers, Go!

Our elementary yearbook keeps getting better and better — and is now in its second year as a club! The Yearbook Club is open to students in 5th and 6th grade and includes one 3rd grade and 4th grade ambassador. They met once a week from February through June.

Students work under District Librarian Cheryl Werner's guidance to create a keepsake full of friends and memories—and learn new skills. The skills our Clippers learn in the Elementary Yearbook Club will stay with them as they tackle larger projects like the MS/HS Yearbook, Journalism elective, and lots more.

Thanks for all your hard work, students + Ms Werner!

Thank you to our Principals, Superintendent, and the Board of Ed for supporting this and other clubs to help our Clippers grow their skills and learn new ones. Clubs like this are funded through the School Budget.

Please reach out if you would like to help out with the yearbook, or would like to donate a copy of the yearbook to a student who doesn't have the funds.

And now: enjoy some pics from previous yearbooks! Could there be anything sweeter?
