Against all odds. 🦣🌪️
After 6 months of exhausting work, navigating endless bureaucracy, a catastrophic breakdown, a rescue mission in Reno, a second attempt at the gates, and assembling our mammoth in the middle of a blinding 45mph dust storm… we finally made it.
Seeing Bone Voyage towering over the Playa for the first time was a feeling we will never, ever forget. It was proof that when you refuse to quit, the dust eventually clears. ✨
To the builders, the dreamers, donors, and the mechanics who kept us alive: thank you. We are already dreaming about next year. 🔥

Monday noon, we finally got the call to pick up Bone Voyage from the shop. Leaving Reno, the cab was dead silent, hyper-fixated on every single hum, tick, and rattle the engine made.

After 2.5 hours on the road​ came the true test: waiting in the Black Rock City gate line for the second time.

​But the moment those tires hit the deep playa... magic. ✨ Despite all the chaos, the breakdowns, and the sleepless nights, Bone Voyage finally made it home and ran like a Swiss clock the entire week. 🦣🕰️

While Bone Voyage lay in a mechanic shop near Reno, our hearts were heavy. Friday, Saturday, Sunday... the unknown weekend was a mental marathon.

But the dream didn't stop. The show must go on, even if it’s on a smaller scale. We made the tough decision to push ahead and build our camp, using every bit of the decor we’d fabricated for the art car.

Massive, curved tusks (the same ones you see here!) and giant skull became our new centerpiece. In our minds, if the mammoth couldn't roam, this camp would be its shrine, carrying its spirit to the dust. ✨

They say nothing on the Playa comes easy, and getting Bone Voyage there was the ultimate test. 🦣🚐💨Time to recap our firs...

They say nothing on the Playa comes easy, and getting Bone Voyage there was the ultimate test. 🦣🚐💨

Time to recap our first journey! Nothing was simple during this build. Not a single thing happened perfectly on the first try. But after 6 months of relentless work, we decided to push forward no matter what.

Then… Friday morning. Just before the gates opened, the bus started losing power and blowing smoke. 🛑 We honestly thought that was it. We thought half a year of blood, sweat, and metal fabrication was down the drain.

Luckily, we broke down not far from Reno. The incredible crew at Gas and Diesel Tech LLC in Sparks, NV took us in and promised to try an urgent fix. We spent a highly stressful, totally unknown weekend waiting for a verdict… but they saved the day! By Monday, the engine was roaring, and we were back on track to the dust. ✨

Massive shoutout to the mechanics who kept this dream alive!
