NEBRASKA’S 1st HISPANIC FEMALE OFFICER IS STILL DISCRIMINATED AGAINST TWO DECADES LATER!
INTRODUCTION: ’s first female , Stella M Ojeda, now 53 years old, became after a deadly in her apartment in December 2015. On December 11, 2015, Ojeda’s face erupted into god-awful blackened-bruised skin lesions and open skin ulcers. Ojeda felt like she was dying, fell into a coma in E.R., was admitted to ICU, and was bedridden for almost eight years. Now, ten years later, former Officer Ojeda, and her Registered , Ellie Mae Ojeda, are at high-risk of an unlawful and wrongful state of , for a second time within the past two years, after repeated pleas and cries for help. Judicial misconduct, inaction, and worsen the situation.
BACK STORY: Since September 5, 2023, both former Officer Ojeda and her Registered PTSD Service Dog, Ellie Mae, have continued to face ongoing , , , , , , , and , , and harm. Ojeda filed a preliminary Hate Crimes Act Report with the FBI – Omaha Field Office, from July 15, 2025 to July 18, 2025. Despite Ojeda’s report, the FBI failed to respond, and act; which, only contributes to Ojeda’s risk of homelessness and showcases the systemic barriers and unfair treatment Ojeda and her Service Dog continue to encounter. Ojeda’s desperate cries to the FBI for help only resulted in an email response containing only links to outside sources.
On December 11, 2023, former Officer Ojeda had to rush her Registered PTSD Service Dog, Ellie Mae, to the in FortCollins, Colorado, because Ellie needed another emergency spinal cord surgery. Ellie had, previously, underwent a $10,000+ emergency spinal cord surgery on August 4, 2023. On December 18, 2023, Judge, , entered a default judgement for restitution of premises against Ojeda, in favor of Nebraska Landlord and Scotts Bluff County Commissioner, DBA Spaces, LLC, despite Ojeda’s formal request for a continuance and accommodations that was submitted on December 12, 2023. Scotts Bluff County Judge’s blatant disregard of Ojeda’s formal requests forced Ojeda and her injured Registered PTSD Service Dog, Ellie Mae, into an unlawful and wrongful state of homelessness on December 21, 2023, just four days before Christmas, and that lasted for almost an entire year.
Former Police Officer, Stella M Ojeda, is now a current tenant of 501(c)(3) Nonprofit Organization, (TCD) Association, Inc., located in Scottsbluff, Nebraska. On November 7, 2024, Ojeda thought that she had finally overcome discrimination, retaliation, and homelessness when # TCD Housing Coordinator approved her rental application for a unit in the TCD Northfield Apartments located in Gering, Nebraska. Ojeda signed a 12-month auto-renewing lease with TCD Housing Coordinator on November 8, 2024. But, just two months after signing her lease and moving into her new apartment, former Officer Ojeda and her recovering Registered PTSD Service Dog, Ellie Mae, have been at high-risk of another unlawful and wrongful state of homelessness, once again. Despite numerous desperate pleas for help from numerous local, state, and national law firms, judicial systems, and government and law enforcement agencies; former Officer Ojeda’s ongoing cries for help and relief continue to go unheard and not taken seriously.
The unlawful and unethical misconduct and behaviors of Scotts Bluff County Judge, Scotts Bluff County Commissioner and Co-Owner of Spaces, LLC, TCD Housing Coordinator, TCD Executive Director, TCD Board President/Attorney, TCD Maintenance Supervisor, and several TCD Tenants at TCD Northfield Apartments located in Western Nebraska are merely the beginning of a long laundry list of individuals, and entities, who have committed a series of Fair Housing Hate Crimes violations and a series of other criminal acts against former Officer Ojeda and her Registered PTSD Service Dog, Ellie Mae. Ojeda’s list includes felony violations and involves multiple cities, counties, and states. Former Officer Ojeda’s unfortunate journey of injustice began almost 20 years ago when she was unlawfully and wrongfully terminated by the City of Scottsbluff and Chief of Police at the Scottsbluff PD in Scottsbluff, Nebraska in 2007.
