Giving Tuesday is here!

As a 501 (c)3 organization, we rely heavily on donors like YOU to help us accomplish our mission!

If you would like to take part in helping our horse crew, please click the photo to open the Zeffy link and give to our feed fundraiser!

Each horse means the world to our staff and volunteers, our children and young adult riders, and our Veterans.

Each donation helps us provide grain and hay for those who help so many in our local community!

❤️ Leo, Donny, Mac-a-Roney, Ranger, Rosie, and Daisy 🐴

Thank You from all of us at Buckboard Therapeutic Riding Academy!

Due to the EHV-1 outbreak, it has been advised by our equine veterinarian that we take precautions to protect our horse crew.

Staff will no longer be riding in the Christmas parade, and all fall session rides are cancelled until further notice.

Our horses are our family, please understand that their health is paramount to us and we have a responsibility to protect them. We aim to keep the heart of Buckboard safe and secure!

The added Veteran service line is still in planning stages behind the scenes, we are still working to keep our horses conditioned and engaged, and we continue to be hopeful that we will allow public access again in the near future!

🐴 Feeding the Herd That Heals 🌾💛
Right now, our therapy horses are carrying more than kids and veterans… they’re carrying hope.

At Buckboard Therapeutic Riding Academy, our horses are the very center of every breakthrough — from a child taking a deeper breath to a veteran finding calm for the first time in years. None of that happens without a well-fed, healthy herd.

As winter rolls in, our biggest need is hay, grain, and essential feed supplements to keep these incredible horses strong for the work they do every single day.

We’re asking our community to step in and help us Feed the Herd That Heals.
Every bale, every bag, every dollar donated goes directly to caring for the horses who care for so many others.

Buckboard Therapeutic Riding Academy Receives $55,000 Gift from the Shane Aulick Family to Support Safe Horse Transport

Scottsbluff, NE — Buckboard Therapeutic Riding Academy is proud to announce a generous $55,000 donation from the Shane Aulick Family, designated for the purchase of a 2026 Wilson stock trailer. This remarkable contribution strengthens Buckboard’s ability to care for its therapy horses and support the riders who depend on them.
The new trailer will provide a reliable and secure way to transport horses for a variety of essential purposes, including veterinary care, seasonal pasture moves, and travel to Veteran trail rides and off-site activities. Safe transportation is a cornerstone of quality equine care, and this gift ensures Buckboard’s horses can be moved with confidence and comfort.
“Having a dependable stock trailer is vital to the day-to-day operations of our program,” said Buckboard Therapeutic Riding Academy leadership. “The Shane Aulick Family’s support gives us the freedom to respond quickly to the needs of our horses and to say yes to more opportunities for our riders—especially the Veterans we proudly serve.”
This investment directly impacts the children’s therapeutic riding program as well as Buckboard’s expanding Veterans Equine Therapy program, allowing the organization to continue offering safe, meaningful, and life-enriching experiences.
“We are deeply grateful for the Aulick family’s belief in our mission,” the statement continued. “Their generosity not only equips us with an essential tool—it strengthens the heart of our program.”
Buckboard Therapeutic Riding Academy serves individuals of all ages and abilities throughout the region, promoting healing, confidence, and connection through the partnership between horse and rider.
