The Geraldine Historical Committee

The Geraldine Historical Committee The Geraldine Historical Committee is a 501 (c)3 nonprofit organization with a 7 member board with the mission of preserving & protecting local history.

We have a seven member board with general membership that fluctuates from year to year. We hold our annual meeting every year as required by our by-laws in February. At this time dues are collected which are a whole $1 per year. Some years we have 25 members and then sometimes only 15 or so, it seems to depend on what we have going on.

I had the privilege of meeting Mike and Art Donner in the depot on Thursday. They are both Claude's brothers. Gave them the tour and they were both very impressed that #1, we saved the depot from being burned in1993 and #2 the wonderful restoration job on it. Art had been in it numerous times growing up and carousing with cousin Wes Stoos.
Art is sending I believe he said a mirror put out by Frank Joyce to us. And while he was here we signed him up for the Legion post here in Geraldine. Nice time spent.
Besides the Rice family, Karen Davis, Barb Ludeman, Robyn Scribner, Dan VanVoast and Laurie McCullough have keys to get into the depot. Everybody is willing to go down and give a tour.
