For 20 years, Kentucky Dachshund Rescue (KDR) has been saving dachshunds and other small breeds from euthanasia. We provide food, medical care, love, and — most importantly — the time they need to find their forever families. ucky Dachshund Derby. KDR’s mission is powered by adoptions, fundraisers, auctions, and an incredible network of volunteers. Every dollar raised goes directly toward giving animals a second chance when they need it most. Over the past two decades, KDR has helped more than 1,200 families welcome the joy and unconditional love only a rescue dog can bring. Every dog that comes through our doors receives full veterinary care, and we strongly promote spay and neuter practices to help end pet overpopulation. We also offer a lifeline for owners who can’t keep their pets, providing safe rehoming and medical support when it’s needed most. Each year, KDR takes in hundreds of dogs who would otherwise face euthanasia due to illness, neglect, or family hardship. We’re endlessly proud of our members and volunteers, whose tireless dedication makes this life-saving work possible — and we’ll keep fighting for every single tail until every dog has a home to wag it in.

Buddy is a lover.....if you are a female he will give you his heart.....Want a fellow that's housetrained? He's got it covered. This fellow can snuggle up to you and make you really smile....
He's not pushy about it....He just has a great way with the ladies...
He's also voice trained....so when you talk to him, its as though he really understands.
Buddy will develop a bond like no other. He's okay being alone for several hours and never tears up anything or soils his surroundings.
He is not a barker either....though he does whine some when youre on the other side of the door.
He does great with female dogs as companions too ( small like him) but he'd rather not have to negotiate a toy with a male dog...

But don't let my energetic side fool you, I'm also a loyal and affectionate companion who loves nothing more than to snuggle up and show my humans some love.
