4 people need your help!

There are some special needs at the Shepherd’s Office.

Stigma is such an awful thing. People are considered less than if they are homeless or have developed an addiction often times after suffering from a trauma or having surgery and getting addicted to pain medication. Not every situation is as it seems on the surface.
Sometimes people just don’t want to be invisible and need Hope and a little help.

If you feel led to help any of the individuals listed below and can help them, please do so. Everyone is fighting a battle of some sort, but I know firsthand these people are working extra hard and just need a little bit of a hand up so that they can continue to thrive.

1. A married couple who have his mother with them are in great Need of Temporary Shelter help. The man receives disability income and the wife works. His mother is elderly and ailing. They are $280 short if anyone can make a contribution in any amount, it would pay for them to get to her next paycheck at which time she can take care of things going forward.

2. A man who is 8 months into his recovery has changed jobs. The new job will help him, but in the meantime, he is significantly behind in rent and owes $800, and must pay half to stay. As he works he can chip away at the remaining balance. If anyone could contribute in any amount, it would be greatly appreciated to help him to maintain his housing that he has worked so hard to get.

3. A woman has a move-in date of Thursday, May 14th. She has paid up to date where she is and can pay security deposit & rent at the new house; however, for the next week she needs a gas card to get to & from work. The rising price of gas and sec dep for the new rental has set her back

4. A man has gotten an awesome new job with better pay & benefits but lacks the required navy blue scrubs size 3X for his job. He is almost a year in his recovery and could really use our support. Can anyone help?

Thanks for all your help! We loved meeting you all!

With so many changes happening across the DelMarVa region, it was the perfect opportunity for our TCC leadership team to connect and give back together. What began as a regular meeting quickly turned into a surprise adventure when the team was asked to pack up and hop into a van, with no idea what the day had in store.

The first stop was a local favorite pastry shop for some morning treats, followed by a virtual reality team‑building experience filled with laughs and friendly competition. Afterward, Regional Director Zach H. presented the District Manager of the Year awards, recognizing outstanding leadership across the region.

The day concluded in true TCC fashion at one of their favorite nonprofit partners, The Shepherd’s House/Shepherd's Office, where the team helped serve dinner to unhoused members of their community.

It was an inspiring day of connection, celebration, and service and a great example of how we live out our commitment to giving back.

Monday Help Needed at Shepherds Office, Georgetown, DE

Welcome to Monday! We have 4 special cases that need a little extra help this week. If you can assist, please text Greta, our volunteer case manager, at 302-841-2552. Any support is deeply appreciated.

1) Monthly bus pass for a newly employed homeless man
He has just been hired for a full-time job and needs a monthly bus pass to get through until his first paycheck.
He recently moved into a sober group home and is paying weekly rent.
We’re hopeful to bridge him to self-sufficiency until he’s paid.

If you can help with a bus pass or know a way to support him until payday, please reach out to Greta.

2) Transportation help for a mother with a young daughter
She’s employed and also cleans houses on the side.
She wants to work more hours but some locations are not on a bus route.
We’re seeking a used car donation (or lead on one) to donate to our nonprofit. A donation receipt can be provided.

If you have a used car to donate or know someone who does, please contact Greta.

3) Rent huddle for a young homeless man training as an X-ray technician
He’s close to obtaining his certificate and is volunteering heavily to qualify for paid work.
He is short $225 for rent this week at the sober living group home.
Once he starts earning a regular paycheck, he’ll be able to pay independently.

If you can contribute toward his rent or offer any other form of assistance, please message Greta.

4) Support for Greta Browning’s sister during a medical emergency
Greta’s sister was recently discharged from a 2-week hospital stay in Philadelphia and had to be airlifted back to the Philadelphia hospital after only 6 days at home.
Donations of any amount for food and gas would be greatly appreciated during this difficult time.
Greta Browning is a dedicated volunteer at Shepherd’s Office, and your support would mean a lot.

If you can contribute or share prayers, please text Greta.

We are having a Free Breakfast this morning at the Shepherd's Office! We always start with prayers first. And the prayer time has me thinking....Our team and I are grateful for chaos, hardships, setbacks and challenges because all of this keeps us alert to the best we can be as a group and team of helpers working together to listen and navigate others toward a better life.

I see that we all become grounded and grateful when we are in the midst of chaos, despair, uncertainty that surrounds us all here at the Shepherd's Office. In a strange way, chaos is a blessing because the "G" in Grounded and Grateful stands for God. The troubles we are in help us to focus on asking God for help and this is what stretches out into eternity too. Our troubles build a working relationship with God, our Creator. So embrace the chaos and the darkness that swirls around you because God always has a plan. When you are in the midst of chaos, poverty and despair, please don't you give up. But going forward you will probably have to give up what you want to be for who you have to be in the midst of all the troubles and problems that surround us in the sadness of dark times and in the chaos of hard times. We are a team with God leading the way. and every morning and night we pray to God for help. Being in the dirty chaos of life is the best place to be for learning what is the most valuable activities to keep busy with.
