Brown County Young Achievers 4-H and Cloverbuds

Aug 2 meeting 2026
The Brown County Young Achievers Held a 4-H meeting Sunday, August 2nd. During this meeting we discussed about a bake-off our club is having. This Bake-off is to determine what we are making and who is baking it for our group to take to fair.

We had officer presentations by Jacob, our Energy Officer, who talked about recycling, and another from Hayden, our Safety officer. Hayden told us about washing our hands at the fair after petting animals so we don’t spread diseases.

We also had project presentations by Kaylee and Ella. Kaylee explained how she takes care of her meat chickens and Ella talked about her meat rabbit (and showed it to us).

Our Cloverbuds had fun in this meeting as they worked on their fair project. It is turning out very nicely we cant wait to see the finished product.

We enjoyed a fun game of Four Corners, this game was led by our Recreation Officer, Hunter. How you play (if you’d like to at home) is have one person stand in the middle of a room with four corners. That person closes their eyes and counts to ten, all other pick a corner (number each corner one-four). Then, the person in the middle of the room picks a random corner, players in that corner are eliminated (this goes on till only one player is left). This game is super fun and we hope you love it as much as we did.

Lastly on Sunday Athena our Inspiration officer gave us the quote “Leaders aren’t born, they’re grown.”

On Sunday June 14, 2026 the Brown County Young Achievers held a 4-H
meeting.
During this meeting, we organized all the stuffed animals we are donating
to the local police departments. We had piles and piles! We are glad to
serve our community; we hope that through this community service we
can help kids like us get through a hard time. As a group this completes a
part of our pledge (hands to larger service), plus we are glad to help.
Our Cloverbuds learned about another one of our four H’s, ‘Hands to
larger service’, this went right along with us finishing our community
service project. They made papers on service and no doubt learned a lot.
In this meeting, we all enjoyed a game of ‘Simon Says’, led by our
Recreation Officer. We all had fun playing together while trying not to do
what Simon didn’t say to do.
We also had an officer presentation by Jacob (Energy Officer). He gave an
example on static electricity. He took a balloon and rubbed it on his head
and… it didn’t work. But Brown County Young Achievers are NOT quitters,
and after several tries on several different heads then to the floor… it finally
worked! Jacob used the balloon to lift a piece of tissue paper and we all
thought it was pretty cool.
Last but not least, a quote read by our Inspiration Officer, Athena, “Much
of the stress that people feel doesn’t come from having too much to do. It
comes from not finishing what they’ve started.” by David Allen.

For community service, as a club, we collected and are donating gently used or new stuffed animals to law enforcement . So the officers can give them to children when they interact with them. Because snuggle buddies can make a bad experience a little less scary for a child.

On July 25, 2026, Stacy Smith and Jacob Seip members of the Brown County Young Achievers 4 H went around to Brown County Sheriff’s office, Williamsburg Police Department, Clermont County Sheriff’s office, and Union Township Police Department. They dropped off all the stuffed animals that we collected as a group for community service. They met officers Deputy Pham, Deputy Manning from Clermont County Sheriff Office, Corporal Hammon from Williamsburg Police department,
J. Kuhn from Union Township, and Tom Ackley from Brown County sheriff Office
Community service is a big part of 4-H, “Hands to larger service” is one of our four H’s. The Brown County Young Achievers are happy that we are able to do something for other kids in our communities.
A shout out to all our members and their parents for all the help donating and sorting the stuffed animals. Also thank you to the police officers who help our communities in so many ways

Secretary’s Report
July 12 4-H meeting
On Sunday July 12, 2026 the Brown County Young Achievers 4-H group held a meeting. Before our actual meeting started the officers had a meeting, in which they talked about what they’re going to do in their officer books. During this meeting we received our hoodies the club purchased for every member. We all can’t wait to wear them, but sadly have to wait for cooler weather so we don’t melt.
We had several project presentations on Sunday. Athena brought her fancy chicken in and told us all about how she takes care of it. Nate, our Environmental Officer, gave a presentation on his office and about his meat rabbit project. Jacob, our Energy Officer, told us about electrical hazards and passed out an activity. Jacob also talked about his tractor project and taught us some proper hand signals. Avery explained to us what judges look for in meat chickens. LOTS of project presentations, all important and very informing.
For recreation, Hunter led a fun game of freeze tag. We all ran around trying not to be frozen, even though its the middle of summer.

On Sunday May 31 the Brown County Young Achievers held a 4-H meeting. We practiced learning Parliamentary Procedure by adding things to a delicious trail mix. This activity was led by Libby, we all enjoyed making this trail mix and it turned out delicious. We learned many different things about making motions and had fun doing it.
We had project presentations from Stacy and Anna, Anna told us what judges look for in meat chickens and Stacy explained how she uses her halter for her show cattle:
We welcomed new advisors Heather and Lori to our club .
In this meeting the group unfortunately did not have a recreation but the "Trail mix Parliamentary procedure' was more than entertaining.
The Cloverbuds learned about Head (one of the four Hs) and gained a new understanding of how clearer thinking helps us. They passed out an activity on goals using the SMART principle.
For community service, as a group we are collecting gently used or new stuffed animals to donate to the Georgetown Police Department. So the officers can give them to children when they interact with them. Because snuggle buddies can make a bad experience a little less scary for a child. For inspiration Athena gave the inspirational quote by Walt Whitman "Keep your face always toward the sunshine - and shadows will fall behind you.
