About a year ago, I discovered Melanie Allison from and thought: this is what it looks like when a woman builds something real.

She doesn’t just throw a good party. She puts actual funding into the hands of small women-owned businesses — through nights like the Wild Card Ball.

So when she invited us, we showed up the only way we know how. Brought the Self-Love Letter Box. Raffled off two tickets to the festival. And celebrated her, loudly.

This is what I preach, and she lives it: the other women in your space are never the competition. We win bigger when we win together.

We don’t grow by guarding the room. We grow by widening it.

Melanie, thank you for what you pour into women in this city.

That is a wrap on The Wild Card Ball! 🎲

We are absolutely thrilled to announce that we hit our goal, fully funding three $750 scholarships for Austin area women in business! Details on how to apply are coming this fall. Every single dollar for these scholarships was raised entirely by our community during the 2025–2026 season. This milestone is purely thanks to our patrons, friends, members, High Roller ticket holders, and the small businesses that chose to give back.

For the first time ever, we had no gala financial sponsors. The entire event was made possible solely through GFP funds, Melanie Allison, and general ticket sales.

We hit our scholarship goal! 🎉

A massive thank you to our latest donors for getting us over the finish line. Because of your generosity, we will officially be awarding 3 Woman-Owned Business Scholarships at $750 each to 3 deserving women this December!

Nominations will open in October, and we will share all the details on how to nominate a business at that time. Stay tuned!
