We hope that the children are off to a great start of the school year. If you saved the date for 8/28 at 5:30-6:30pm for the first park cleanup of the school year, then this post is for you especially but also for others whom are interested in park cleanups.

We are canceling the park cleanup. Why? It’s the Battle of the Birds Football game night. Also those that requested this date/time will be out of town.

We will plan more park cleanups and we value your time and your feedback. If you have a day of the week that works best for you, then please let us know. We want to help the kids earn volunteer hours and we also want to help keep our parks clean.

We may even offer some themed park cleanups, like Mrs. Roper Romp cleanup the park, PJ’s in the park cleanup, Favorite Character Park cleanup, etc.

Let’s have some fun this year and when you’re not super busy please make some time to enjoy your Georgetown - Scott County Parks and Recreation 🥰

🐾 Swim Times by Size:
🐶 Small Dogs (1–20 lbs): 3:00–4:00 PM
🐕 Large Dogs (21–50 lbs): 4:30–5:30 PM
🐕‍🦺 Gigantic Dogs (51+ lbs): 6:00–7:00 PM

⚠️ Vaccines WILL be checked prior to admission.

❤️ The Scott County Humane Society will also be on-site accepting donations to help support local animals in need. Consider bringing a donation and helping us give back!

We wish the students and staff a safe and wonderful school year ❤️

To kick off the school year and to help our young volunteers earn some community service hours we are announcing a Friday evening park cleanup. Mark your calendars for Friday August 28th at 5:30-6:30pm. We will meet at the shelter by the playground at Charles Brooking Park. Stay tuned for more information 😊

Judge Covington and our magistrates have been working on this project for quite some time as it is an enormous undertaking. It’s very exciting news to learn that bids may go out in 2027 👏👏👏 We are very thankful that Ryan Pratt is appointed to the board of our organization.
