Where women gather with purpose, good things happen…

It was a gorgeous fall day for the Scott County Woman's Club October luncheon, filled with friendship, fellowship, meaningful conversation, and an exciting agenda! Our President, Miss Marilyn Howard Stevens, led us through a full meeting with plenty of business, updates, and wonderful things happening within our organization.

A heartfelt Thank You to our gracious hostess, Jane Drake Hale of Bluebird Studio, and our co-hostesses, Sherry Drumb Taylor, Rebekah Fiegenbaum, and Katy Prather, for helping make the afternoon feel so special.

We were also delighted to hear from Marnie Gosser of Rewriting Stories HOPE for Single Parents, who shared about the experiences of single Moms in today's world and highlighted resources available to single mothers in our community. Her message was a meaningful reminder of the importance of connection, compassion, and ensuring that families know they have support and resources available to them.

November 19, 2026 | 6–8 PM Black Dress & Bubbly Ladies Night Out, Our fall fundraiser at Bleubird Studio + Suites! Grab Your girlfriends and join us for an evening of fun, fellowship, and giving back. We will also be collecting gloves, hats, and scarves for local schoolchildren. What a wonderful way to make a difference while enjoying a fabulous Ladies' Night Out.

February 14, 2027 | 2–4 PM Valentine Mahjong Event at Bluebird Studio, A little Galentine's Day fun, friendship, and Mahjong — what could be better?

April 29, 2027 Our 33rd Annual Derby Party will once again be held at the beautiful The Vintage Barn at Merefield Farm! Get ready for a wonderful celebration of Derby season, Southern hospitality, and fellowship. This is always such a special event, and we can't wait.

What a wonderful and productive afternoon with the Scott County Woman's Club

Today’s meeting was filled with fellowship, thoughtful planning, laughter, and so much excitement for the year ahead! We are incredibly grateful to our hostess, Miss Ann Aldridge, and our co-hostesses Marla Aldridge Blair, Barb Shropshire, Maryann Thompson, and Debbie Higdon French for making our gathering so special.

We enjoyed a lovely potluck lunch while taking care of the important work that makes our club possible, from selecting the charities we will support this year and building our committees to choosing committee chairs and planning the many exciting events ahead.

A special Thank You to Marilyn Howard Stevens, who kept us focused and moving through our agenda; Pat Fannin for her Treasurer’s Report; Tina Kingsbury, our Corresponding Secretary; and Lisa Kleinline, our Recording Secretary, who carefully kept track of our votes and the business of the club. We are so grateful for the women who generously give their time, talents, and hearts to keep our organization moving forward.

We also celebrated the success of our Legacy Member Tea at Spindletop Hall, where 44 women gathered, including numerous past presidents and former leaders to honor the remarkable women whose service helped shape our club. What a beautiful reminder of the legacy entrusted to us and the responsibility we have to carry that spirit of service forward.

It was a beautiful fall Sunday afternoon at Spindletop, spent honoring the incredible legacy members of the Scott County Woman's Club.
There is something so special about gathering in a place of beauty and history to celebrate the women who came before us—the women who gave their time, their talents, their hearts, and countless hours of hard work to make Scott County a better place for all of us.
We are especially grateful for the past Presidents and Committees who led the way, raised funds, built relationships, and championed projects that have made a lasting difference in our community. Their legacy reminds us that meaningful change doesn’t happen overnight—it happens when women come together, serve faithfully, and refuse to stop believing in the good they can do.
To the women who have gone before us: Thank You. Your work matters, and Your legacy lives on.
And to the women coming behind us: keep going. Keep serving. Keep showing up. Keep finding ways to make our community stronger, kinder, and better for the generations that follow.
May we honor the legacy we’ve been given by continuing the work with grateful hearts and a commitment to leave Scott County better than we found it.

What a wonderful year it has been for the Scott County Woman's Club.
As we gathered for our final meeting before summer break, we reflected on an incredible year of service, fellowship, and community impact.

A heartfelt Thank You goes to our gracious hostesses, Vanessa Grossl, Miss Tina Kingsbury, Diane Zimmerman, and Christy Jane, for hosting such a lovely meeting. Your hospitality is greatly appreciated.
We would also like to extend our sincere thanks to Captain Josh Bedson for taking the time to speak with our club and for arranging a tour of the new facilities. We appreciate Your leadership, Your staff, and Your commitment to serving our community.

A special Thank You to Keishta Slattery from Ramey-Estep/Regroup for joining us and for treating us to the delicious pineapple upside-down cake that quickly became a favorite on the dessert table!

We are especially proud of the impact our club was able to make through two highly successful fundraisers this year. Under the leadership of Debbie Barnett, our Brunch with Style fundraiser provided the opportunity to award two $2,000 scholarships to outstanding local graduates, Lucy McConnaughhay of Great Crossing High School and Katelyn Stevens of Scott County High School. We are thrilled to support these remarkable young women as they begin their college journeys this fall. Congratulations, Lucy and Katelyn, and best wishes for a successful future at EKU!

Our annual Derby Party, chaired by Tina Kingsbury, was another tremendous success, raising an impressive $15,000 for Transform Scott County. It is an honor to partner with organizations that are making a meaningful difference in the lives of those throughout our community, and we are grateful for the opportunity to support their mission.

As we close out another successful year, we are excited to recognize and welcome our 2026–2027 officers:

A special Thank You to Debra Grove Van Arsdall, Betty Hancock Davis, Cindi Moeller, and Christie Robinson for hosting today’s lovely luncheon. 💖🫶🏻

Congratulations to Tina and her Derby Darlins Committee for organizing such a wonderful Derby Party for us all. While all the numbers are not yet finalized, we are encouraged by the progress as everything continues to reconcile. 💚🐴

Still smiling from such an incredible Derby party 💚🐎
One of my favorite traditions after hosting is sitting down to write Thank You notes. It’s a small gesture, but it means so much to recognize the people who helped make it all come together so beautifully.
From those that helped set up and clean up, for those that donated and brought in donations, for those that kept the energy high, or simply showed up ready to celebrate, each of You played a part in making the day unforgettable.
Taking the time to express gratitude reminds me that events like this aren’t just about the details, they’re about the people who make them special.
If You were part of it, please know how appreciated You are. Thank You for contributing to such a memorable Derby celebration!

To the incredible ladies of the Derby Darlins Committee, the Scott County Woman's Club is truly grateful for each of You.

Months of organization, phone calls, group texts, dedication, through meetings, coordinating donations, and securing sponsors, have led to something truly special. Your commitment, hard work, and heart have brought this beautiful event to life, and it does not go unnoticed.

You ladies created an unforgettable Derby Party, and we are so excited to see the impact it will make for Transform Scott County. We look forward to celebrating the final numbers, but for now, we simply want to say Thank You.
