Billy Joel was recently diagnosed with Normal Pressure Hydrocephalus (NPH). Did you know NPH and Parkinson’s are very similar, and NPH is frequently missed as a diagnosis?

If you or a loved one are experiencing memory loss, difficulty walking, or bladder control issues, it’s easy to assume it’s part of aging or a condition like Alzheimer’s or Parkinson’s. But did you know these symptoms could also be caused by normal pressure hydrocephalus (NPH)?

NPH is often misdiagnosed, but unlike the others, it’s treatable. Recognizing the difference can make all the difference in getting the right care.

It’s been 3 years since brain surgery for us. A bittersweet feeling. Surgery gave her brain the chance to grow and develop, but it’s something I never want her to go through again. Maybe she’ll make it 3 more, or 10 more, or her lifetime…? We don’t know. We fundraise for research to find an alternative treatment (or cure!!) so that brain surgery won’t be a lingering question of, “When will it happen again?” 🧠
