Today was a huge step forward for our community.
The concrete pad for the future batting cages at Georgetown City Park has officially been poured and cut, and I want to take a moment to recognize the people who made it happen.
A massive thank you to Eric Jordan and his crew for donating their time, equipment, labor, and expertise to get this project completed. What you're seeing here isn't just a concrete slab, it's the foundation for countless hours of practice, development, and memories for the youth of our community for years to come.
Projects like this don't happen because someone talks about them. They happen because good people step up, roll up their sleeves, and get to work. Eric and his crew did exactly that.
This batting cage project has been a true community effort, and today's progress is another reminder of what can be accomplished when local businesses, volunteers, organizations, and residents work together toward a common goal.
On behalf of the Georgetown Ridge Farm Men's Club, the Georgetown Youth Sports Association, and the families who will benefit from this project, thank you, Eric Jordan and crew. Your generosity and hard work are helping create something special for our kids and future generations.
We're getting closer every day, and we can't wait to see the first young ballplayer step into these cages and start chasing their dreams.
