The Youth Sailing Scholarship Program helps students access hands-on sailing experiences at the South Carolina Maritime Museum. We help build confidence, skills, and a lifelong connection to our coastal waters.

This program is made possible thanks to the generosity of our community and supporters. And with Palmetto Giving Day coming up next month, you can help even more students get on the water.

Palmetto Giving Day is next month! ⛵️

The museum is raising funds to support our youth sailing program, and every contribution makes a difference.

All donations placed in our museum donation box during the month of April will go directly toward our Palmetto Giving Day goal. Stop by the museum this month, say hello, and drop a donation in our box!

Join us for a special FREE presentation by Dr. Gray Stahlman, author of "Grace Lives" on Wednesday, April 15, at either 11am or 5:30pm.

Grace is the last remaining Pre World War One wooden motor yacht that maintains USCG certification for commercial operation.

Dr. Stahlman will share the fascinating history of this century-old yacht, which calls the South Carolina coast home, along with the remarkable stories behind the vessel that inspired his book!

We had a boatload of fun at the 9th Annual Corrugated Boat Regatta! 🎉 From the creativity under the big tent on Broad Street to the splash-filled launches on the water, it was a day full of laughs and ingenuity. Whether they floated or sank, every boat was a masterpiece of imagination and teamwork — and honestly, it was just as much fun watching them go under as it was seeing them stay afloat! Thanks to all who participated and came out to cheer on the racers — we can’t wait to do it again next year!

We let the dogs out at the Wooden Boat Show for the Nauti Dog Parade and had a doggone good time! 🐾 Thank you to everyone who participated — and congratulations to our furry winners (though let’s be honest, they’re all winners)!
