We are proud to introduce the featured artist for the 37th Annual Georgetown Wooden Boat Show, Vida Miller! Her beautiful artwork features an iconic part of Georgetown's maritime history, Rene Cathou's old fish house.

Thank you to Vida, to all our Friends of The South Carolina Maritime Museum for joining us for the unveiling, and to Gray Man Gallery for the beautiful framing.

Georgetown’s Harborwalk

Front Street in Georgetown has been a working waterfront for close to 300 years — first rice, then timber, now boats, shops, and a whole lot of history packed into a few walkable blocks along the Sampit River.

The Harborwalk itself is a favorite for a reason: shaded benches, a view of the water, and enough historic markers to turn a stroll into an actual history lesson if you slow down and read them.

It’s one of those Georgetown afternoons that feels like it hasn’t changed much in decades — in the best way.

These pictures were taken at last year’s Wooden Boat Show. This year the show runs October 17-18. The Goat Island Yacht Club Regatta / Friday Night Auction is October 16th!! Make plans now

Opportunity on the water starts here!

The Youth Sailing Scholarship Program helps students access hands-on sailing experiences at the South Carolina Maritime Museum. We help build confidence, skills, and a lifelong connection to our coastal waters.

This program is made possible thanks to the generosity of our community and supporters. And with Palmetto Giving Day coming up next month, you can help even more students get on the water.
