The current estimated time of closure is approximately 2 hours.

Thorndale Drive is closed from Paris Pike to Kendall Drive until further notice while road repairs are being made.

🚌 School buses should plan accordingly and use an alternate route.

🚨 VEHICLE VS. PEDESTRIAN HIT-AND-RUN INVESTIGATION UPDATE 🚨

At approximately 7:30 a.m. on August 20, 2026, a student was struck by a vehicle while crossing the roadway. The vehicle failed to stop and render aid and ultimately left the scene.

The vehicle and driver were located in Georgetown shortly afterward.

The suspect has been identified as Ashley Parsons. Charges include:

• Aggravated DUI
• Assault in the 1st Degree
• Leaving the Scene of an Accident/Failure to Render Aid
• Reckless Driving

This investigation remains ongoing.

The Georgetown Police Department is investigating a vehicle-pedestrian collision involving a child in the area of Valley Forge Ct.

We are looking for a black SUV that was last seen traveling on Mt. Vernon Road toward Washington Square.

🔎 The vehicle may have front-end damage.

An off-duty corrections officer's quick actions may have saved a man's life in Louisville this week.

While sitting on his front porch, the officer witnessed a 65-year-old man allegedly chasing another individual while wielding two large knives and making slashing motions.

The officer drew his personal firearm, ordered the man to drop the knives, and held him until Louisville Metro Police arrived. According to police, the victim was in severe danger and later told officers the corrections officer “saved his life.”

The suspect was arrested and faces felony and misdemeanor charges. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for Aug. 17.

Even when off duty, the instinct to protect others doesn't simply switch off.
