We are excited to welcome this year's summer intern Carah Anteck! We look forward to working with her this summer. She has already had a busy first week at the office. Check out her bio below!
Hi! My name is Carah Anteck, and I am so thrilled to be working in the ANR and 4-H programs at the Scott County Cooperative Extension Office this summer! I recently graduated from Berea College with a B.S. in Agriculture and Natural Resources, and a B.A. in Environmental Sciences with a specialization in Spanish. Growing up in a small, rural village of Ohio, my passion for agriculture has always been a part of me. From being an FFA officer all 4 years of high school to helping at the Berea College horticulture and urban farms, I have enjoyed every experience I've had working in the dirt. Some of my other hobbies include cooking, HIIT workouts, calisthenics, and travelling while trying new foods.
Though I never lived on a farm myself, I enjoy working outdoors with plants, animals, and people. One of the most impactful experiences I had was working on a farm in the Andes Mountains of Peru, where I lived and studied for semester. This August, I will travel back to South America to pursue my own independent research project exploring circular food systems and food waste management in the culinary arts. Overall, I am looking forward to learning many new things this summer while also having fun working alongside an awesome team of agents.
