Smith Creek Rd in IOOF Cemetery
We have corridor cleared for a new 1.5 mile segment. Shark Fighter will have more elevation and interesting lines than any trail at the Katy system. These trails are seeing a LOT of users as we have expanded. That means a broader pool of volunteers. Please RSVP so we can plan appropriately. Thank you!

UPDATE: TRAIL CLOSURE
Paved path and singletrack at Chatauqua Park (Taco) are closed for the next few weeks for flood cleanup. Contractors working for the city will be out using heavy machinery to remove debris, downed trees, etc…. Do not access the park or trails until their work is done.

Katy Trailhead - San Gabriel Park
We could use help getting OG Katy back up after the July floods. We have been chipping away at the rest of the trail and it’s all rolling well. This section has been left alone and it’s time to make it right. Invite your friends!

Over the last 3 years our trail network has grown from .6 miles to over 15 miles of amazing singletrack. We can’t maintain it all and there’s a select group that have been doing all the heavy lifting and need your help.

We have several segments that literally just need to be trimmed once a month for a few times until growing season is over. We will provide the equipment. It’s that easy.

I could rant on this topic for a while. It’s a pain point for a volunteer organization. And frustrating to hear over and over “I don’t have time” yet see those same folks pass by while others do the work. Let’s change that narrative.

These trails are free. Built by volunteers. Maintained by volunteers. What are you doing to support that effort?

If you’re in to racing. Or like group rides. Or just like to ride your bike. Come join us for a test event on the Katy trails. We will ride the marked route for the trail running event the next day. is providing good vibes and cold beverages. We will provide rad trails and high fives.

What. A. Day! Over 30 fine folks showed to help us dig today and we had 40 plus last month! The trail stoke is real in GTX!

Please remember to wear comfortable outdoor clothing (including sturdy shoes and gloves if you have them) and bring water. We will provide the tools and should have some spare gloves for those that need them.

End of East 7th St, just north of SU Campus
Bring gloves and water. Tools if you have them. We will be doing a lot of benching and tread work on a beautiful section of trail that will have amazing views of Smith Branch and get us further up the east bank.
