Risen Acres is a 34 acre non-profit farm located in Georgetown, De. Risen Acres is a 34 Acre farm. We have stepped away from the traditional farming techniques.

Risen Acres grows healthy, non-GMO food through organic, regenerative farming and biblical principles to feed those in need while preserving endangered heritage livestock and glorify God. Our family believes in God and that he gave us his Son, Jesus Christ, to forgive our sins. We believe God provides for his creation. While we have not gone through the certification process to be labeled “organic

We also try to raise endangered heritage breeds to sustain God’s creation that man has forgotten. 10% of our gross profits are given to local non-profits. It’s a full-circle farm day on Risen Acres! This morning, 100 broiler chicks arrived in the mail and are settling into the brooder. Meanwhile, we’re taking 20 chickens and 4 turkeys to be processed. 🌱🐓🦃

From tiny chicks to food on the table, we’re thankful for God’s provision through every season🙏🏼✝️.

We arrived at Shady Grove Apartments in Selbyville prepared to serve 45 people. We personally served 15 neighbors—some at the community center and others by delivering food to their doors.

Each meal included chicken thighs or drumsticks (Grown on Risen Acres Farm), fresh bok choy (Grown on Risen Acres Farm), farm-fresh eggs (Grown on Risen Acres Farm), and rice. 🍗🥬🥚🍚

At Risen Acres, we believe food is medicine. We also want to expand food literacy by helping families understand where food comes from, experience fresh ingredients, and gain confidence preparing them.

Families received recipe cards with QR codes linking to instructional cooking videos. Our bok choy introduced a nutritious vegetable while highlighting the diverse foods that can be grown right here in Delaware.

One resident told us they were unable to cook their meal. Without hesitation, a neighbor offered to prepare it for them. That beautiful moment showed what Harvest of Hope is about—neighbors caring for neighbors. ❤️

Most importantly, we reminded everyone that they are seen, loved, and that each bag was a blessing from God while offering prayer to each individual.

Thank you to the volunteers from M&T Bank mandt_bank and beaconbaptistchurchde Beacon Baptist Church, and to Shady Grove Apartments for allowing us to use the community center.

The day didn’t unfold exactly as expected, but God had other plans. His plans are sometimes greater than our understanding—especially in the moment, when we cannot yet see the result.

In the end, we took the remaining food to Village at Iron Branch in Millsboro, allowing us to bless people beyond the community we originally set out to reach. God knew exactly where every meal needed to go.

🍅 Food Is Medicine begins in the soil.

There’s a lot of conversation in Delaware right now about Food Is Medicine. At Risen Acres, we believe that healing doesn’t begin at the doctor’s office—it begins with the food we grow.

Healthy food starts with healthy soil.

When soil is rich with organic matter, minerals, and biological life, it helps grow stronger, healthier plants. Those plants become the fruits, vegetables, eggs, and meats that nourish our bodies. While many factors influence nutritional value, we believe healthy soil is the foundation of healthy food.

These photos show a measurement called Brix from one of our tomatoes and a store bought organic tomato.

Brix measures the natural dissolved solids in fruits and vegetables—primarily natural sugars that contribute to flavor. Growers often use it as one indicator of crop quality. Many supermarket slicing tomatoes measure around 3–5° Brix (in our case 5.5° Brix) , while our latest tomato measured 9° Brix.

To us, that isn’t just a number.

It’s another reminder of why we care so deeply about building healthy soil.

Our mission has never been simply to grow vegetables or raise livestock. Our mission is to grow food that truly nourishes people.

Many families living in low-income housing have little access to fresh, locally grown, pasture-raised food. Through our Harvest of Hope program, we’re working to change that by delivering wholesome food directly into these communities—because everyone deserves access to food that supports health, dignity, and hope.

Food is more than calories.
Food is nourishment.
Food is stewardship.
Food is one way we love our neighbors.

🎉 Congratulations to Roxanne King , the winner of our Farm Box Raffle!🎉

Roxanne generously chose to donate her entire prize to people in need, extending this blessing even further. ❤️ We have already identified people in need. We are coordinating the time to drop off the box.

Thanks to everyone who purchased tickets, donated, shared our fundraiser, and prayed for us, we raised $1,870 to support the mission of Risen Acres!

We have identified 18 low-income housing communities representing nearly 900 units throughout the Indian River School District and have already secured partnerships with five of them. We hope to reach 250 people in 2026, serve 1,000 people in 2027, and ultimately reach every community within a calendar year.

Every dollar helps us grow and raise food, cover processing costs, deliver nutritious food, build relationships, pray with families, and share the hope of the gospel.

Not a glamorous picture—but it’s real.

Earlier this week we made the trip to Dover with 52 pasture-raised meat chickens for processing. Sadly, 8 birds died from transport stress. That’s the unfortunate reality of not having enough local processors in Delaware.

This isn’t just a challenge for our farm—it’s a food security issue. When processing facilities are hours away, small farms lose animals, spend more on transportation, and face greater obstacles to providing fresh, local food. If we want local farms to feed local families, we need local infrastructure.

Today we picked up the finished chickens. Every package in this freezer represents God’s provision and the generosity of those who support Risen Acres.

These chickens will be distributed at our next Harvest of Hope event on August 15, where we’ll deliver farm-fresh, pasture-raised, non-GMO fed chicken directly to families facing food insecurity—along with recipe cards, cooking videos, and, most importantly, the hope found in Jesus Christ. This will be delivered with Bok Choy which you can also see its growth stage in the pictures.

At Risen Acres, we call our approach “More-ganic.”

Not because we’re USDA Organic certified, but because we strive to go beyond a label by caring for the whole system. We raise our animals on pasture, feed a non-GMO diet, use no routine antibiotics, and steward our land without herbicides or pesticides. We believe healthy soil produces healthy plants. Healthy plants produce healthy animals. Healthy animals produce healthy food. Healthy food helps build healthy people and stronger communities.
