The Georgetown Optimist Club wishes to acknowledge the winners of its Indiana South District essay contest. L-R, Zachary Dragoo 3rd, Amelia Nantz 2nd, and Madison Dragoo 1st. Madison advances to the district competition for a $2,500 scholarship. We thank all three for their excellent essays on the topic,
" How My Acts of Service Help Me Understand What My Community Means to Me".

Romance Books, Hooks, and Crooks will be held on Saturday, 5/17/25, from 11am-4pm at the Georgetown Optimist Club (and hosted by Kentuckiana Romance Writers, KRW).

This event shines a spotlight on local women authors in all of the varied areas of the Romance and Mystery genres. Over 15 authors will be attending, including USA Today Bestseller S.Cinders and award-winning author Marilyn Barr. Our authors have strong Kentuckiana roots, and we will have a KRW charity anthology available for sale as well that is entirely composed of stories set in this region.
The event is FREE - though we'd appreciate it if folks sign up on EventBrite to let us know they're planning to come.
