The Fourth of July at George, Washington begins with a Pancake Breakfast served at the Community Hall kitchen from 7-11 am. Registration for the 2 mile Cherry Bomb Run continues until just before race time, which begins at 8:30. At 9:00 am all Market Vendors and Food Booths open, and the grand Parade along W. Montmorency Boulevard begins at 10 am. On the outdoor stage at 11 am an inspiring Patriotic Program will take place, featuring the Veterans Operation Creation and The Choppers Brass Band, with a special appearance by Thomas Jefferson, played by Paul Slager, followed up by an address by Isaiah Schaapman. Beginning at 12:30, the WORLD'S LARGEST CHERRY PIE (recognized in the Guiness Book of World Records will be served by the George, Washington Georgettes for a donation of $1. Also in the afternoon, the George Community Hall will become the George, WA American History Museum until 3 pm, with live reenactors, courtesy of Quincy Valley Historical Museum and Quincy Valley Allied Arts. The afternoon in the George Park will include the Cherry Pit Spitting Contest, Antique Tractor Show, a performance by popular Latino band, Los Vega, and fun, contemporary Bluegrass by the Campground Boys, and much more! NEW THIS YEAR in honor of America 250, the Veterans Operation Creation has brought in rising Country Star JEREMY McCOMB and his band, H***y Tonk Circus for a special evening concert on the outdoor stage, right up until time for the bigger-than-ever FIREWORKS show at 10 pm.
