Kisses From Friends Granting wishes and joyful experiences for local kids fighting cancer.

KISSES FROM FRIENDS offers emotional support to children undergoing cancer treatment, and their families. Our organization raises charitable donations through a variety of fundraising activities such as dinner, sporting, social events, grants and offers from the public. Focused primarily in southeastern Wisconsin, KISSES FROM FRIENDS raises awareness of childhood cancer and is comprised of volunteers dedicated to helping these children and their families through their difficult times.

September may be over, but the fight against childhood cancer doesn’t end when the calendar changes. 💛🎗️

The date may have changed from September 30th to October 1st, but nothing else has changed. Children are still being diagnosed. Families are still hearing words no parent should ever have to hear. And kids are still facing treatments that can have lifelong consequences.

🎗️ Childhood cancer needs more awareness.
🎗️ More research.
🎗️ More funding.
🎗️ And better, less toxic treatments designed specifically for children.

Awareness shouldn’t be seasonal. The fight continues every single day.

As Childhood Cancer Awareness Month comes to an end, the fight does not. 🎗️💛

September may be the month we “Go Gold,” but childhood cancer doesn’t follow a calendar. Every day, children are diagnosed, families hear words they never imagined hearing, and young warriors endure treatments no child should ever have to face.

Awareness shouldn’t end when September does. Neither should the advocacy, support, research, funding, and fight for better, safer treatments.

To every child fighting, every survivor living with the lasting effects, every family walking this road, and every family carrying the memory of a child forever in their hearts—we will keep showing up. 💛

One month is simply NOT enough. Keep going gold. Keep sharing. Keep advocating. Keep fighting. 🎗️

🎗️ Pediatric cancer is NOT just one disease.
When we say “childhood cancer,” it can sound like we’re talking about a single illness. In reality, pediatric cancer includes many different types and subtypes of cancer—including leukemia, brain and central nervous system tumors, neuroblastoma, lymphomas, Wilms tumor, bone cancers, rhabdomyosarcoma, retinoblastoma, and more.

Each one can require different treatments, different research, and different approaches to finding better cures. Yet they are so often lumped together under one umbrella: “childhood cancer.”

These children deserve more than a one-size-fits-all approach. They deserve research focused on THEIR cancers, treatments designed specifically for growing bodies, and continued funding to find safer, more effective options.

Childhood cancer isn’t just one cancer.
It’s many diseases. Many battles. Too many children. 💛

Childhood cancer may be called “rare,” but there is nothing rare about it to the families who hear the words, “Your child has cancer.” 💛

These kids are more than statistics. They are our sons, daughters, siblings, friends, classmates, and heroes—fighting battles no child should ever have to face.

They deserve more. More awareness. More research. More treatment options designed specifically for children. And MORE FUNDING. 🎗️

We cannot accept “rare” as a reason for childhood cancer to receive less attention or fewer resources. Every child deserves the best chance at a long, healthy future.

These little heroes are asked to endure more at a young age than most of us can imagine. 💛

Needles, ports, scans, surgeries, chemotherapy, medications, hospital stays, and side effects that can take away pieces of their childhood—all while they’re still supposed to just be kids.

They learn words they should never have to know and face fears no child should ever have to face. Yet somehow, they keep smiling, fighting, and showing us what courage truly looks like.

They may be little, but their strength is mighty. No child should ever have to be this brave. 💛🎗️

Being a cancer parent is exhausting in ways most people will never see. 💛🎗️

It’s not just the hospital stays and appointments. It’s the sleepless nights, constant worry, endless “what ifs,” financial stress, changed relationships, fear, hope, and trying to hold everything together while your world feels like it has stopped.

Cancer doesn’t only affect the child diagnosed—it impacts the entire family in ways that can last long after treatment ends.

So when you know a cancer parent, check on them. Sit with them. Listen. Show up. Sometimes they don’t need the right words—they just need to know they aren’t carrying it all alone. 💛

💛 For many kids with cancer, having their port accessed is one of the hardest parts of treatment.

A port can mean fewer IV sticks and easier access for chemotherapy, medications, fluids, and blood draws—but that doesn’t mean accessing it is easy. The sight of the needle, remembering past painful experiences, and anticipating that moment can cause very real fear and anxiety.

Some children cry. Some freeze. Some panic before the needle ever comes out. And for parents, watching your child become terrified over something they have no choice but to endure can be absolutely heartbreaking.

A port may be hidden beneath the skin, but the anxiety surrounding it isn’t always visible. These kids are asked to be brave over and over again in ways no child should have to be. 💛

This Childhood Cancer Awareness Month, remember that treatment is so much more than medicine. It’s needles, fear, anxiety, tears—and children finding the courage to face it all again the next day.

💛 September is Childhood Cancer Awareness Month 💛

One of the hardest truths about childhood cancer is that, in most cases, we still don’t know exactly why it happens. Unlike many adult cancers, childhood cancers generally aren’t linked to lifestyle choices or things a child or parent did.

For so many families, there is no clear “why.” No warning. No way they could have prevented it. Just a diagnosis that changes everything. 🎗️
That’s why research matters. We need better answers, earlier detection, safer treatments, and ultimately, cures. Our children deserve more. 💛
