Join us TODAY for our 2nd Tuesdays @ Two program, "Organized Crime and Prohibition in the Fox Valley."

Travel back in time with Chris Linden, executive director of Northwest Living and Northwest Quarterly Magazines, as he explores the legendary hideouts, real-life haunts, and the lingering connections with prohibition in our region.

The program starts at 2 PM and is $5, or free for Members. Registration is required to guarantee seating, and includes museum admission. Presentations are recorded for viewing on the Members page of our website one week after the presentation.

It’s that time of year again! The Geneva History Museum invites local nonprofits to join the 17th annual Geneva Giving Trees inside the Museum. Each nonprofit decorates a tree reflecting their mission, and the public “votes” with donations. The winning tree keeps 100% of its funds, while all others share 50% proceeds with the Museum.

Do you work with a non-profit that might be interested? Participation is FREE and offers a fun way for your organization to raise money during the holiday season! For more information, or to sign up your organization send an email to [email protected]. The deadline for registration is October 23.

Thank you to everyone who braved the very wet weather and joined us for our fundraiser at The Little Traveler last night!

Thanks to your generosity, attendees pledged nearly $8,000 toward our Building & Grounds Fund. With approximately $2,000 now in the fund, we are now well on our way toward our $15,000 goal!

The Geneva History Museum owns its historic building and receives no city, state, or federal funding. We rely on private donations and grants to maintain and preserve the building that houses Geneva’s treasured memories. Our Building & Grounds Fund helps ensure that we can continue caring for this special place for generations to come.

We had a wonderful time collaborating with two Geneva businesses for their respective celebrations last night!

First, we provided history panels for the Grand Opening of Keller Williams, located in the historic Dodson House on Second Street. Later, we assisted with décor and technology for State Street Jewelers’ celebration of their new PRISM collection.

We love opportunities like these to work with local businesses and organizations, share Geneva’s history, and support the community in new and creative ways. Thank you to Keller Williams Inspire and State Street Jewelers for including the Geneva History Museum in your celebrations!

We’re still looking for a few specific photographs for our upcoming exhibition, Geneva at Play!

The Museum is seeking photographs of Geneva-area children, families, and friends actively playing with the following toys and games:
• LEGO, Tinkertoys, Erector Sets, or other building toys
• Toy kitchens, Easy-Bake Ovens, or other educational toys
• Video games played at home on a computer or console
• Visits to video game arcades

Photos can be from any decade! Selected images will be featured in the exhibition to help tell the story of play in Geneva.

If you have a photograph that fits one of these categories and would be willing to allow the Museum to use it, we’d love to hear from you.
